Hi. Please could anyone who has any info reply. Be it members of Bioware or just forum members.
I ordered my Signature Edition on January 3rd from play.com and received a confirmation email. However this morning i received an email saying that my order had been cancelled due to them running out of stock.
Firstly how is it possible to run out of stock with a pre-order? It isn't even out till March. I phoned them up and they say it has been removed from the site and is no longer availabe which is just as it should be but I don't think they understand the whole deal with the Signature Edition only being available for a certain period.
Please can some one who has had the same expereince or some one from Bioware or EA give me advice or a little help here as i am pretty annoyed.
If you really want it, you can go for ebay, there's still quite a few signature editions up for grabs there.

I'm not sure the retailers really have much clue about what is going on with this sort of thing, they seem to get as confused as fans at times about who is getting what and what game they are offering with games and things, oh for the days of games just being released and all being the same (complete), the fun of just picking up a game on a whim is gone these days.
I would kick up a fuss over this to whoever you need to, it's not on Play have sold you something that they can't now supply you with, especially as this product is now unavailable.

I hope you let them know that this is completely unacceptable. If they knew they couldn't honor the sale, the least they could have done was inform you before the SE cut off date so that you could order it from somewhere more reliable.

I explained them that fixing the issue would let them keep a long buying customer. They woudn't do anything, so I told them I wouldn't be shopping with them again. The girl on the phone could not be bothered.

Life lesson of the day: Never use Play.com, ever.
This. Seriously.
I am very sorry. This event has obviously caused some frustration, especially since the Signature Edition was limited. Make sure you get a refund.
I never go to Play.com because they have done that with other games.

That is complete bull****.
Play.com has treated you like trash, and the only reason they've done that is because they've been allowed to get away with it. Don't just sit back and take it. Inform people about your situation, that their services are unreliable and that their employees are incredibly rude when faced with a situation that's no one's fault but their own.
Gamers are some of the most passionate buyers out there. I promise you some of them will think twice before buying from play.com after listening to what you have to say, and in the end it might force them to reevaluate the way they do business. If not, then at least you did something.

That's no surprise to me. A while ago I had a problem with an order from play.com and there was a distinct lack of interest in resolving it.

Hopefully you can work something out with... them, or Chris. You ordered the SE, you ought to get it.

yeah, that happens when you preorder it and pay it off in increments. I currently have 3 Dead Space 2 CE's and 2 NFS:Hot Pursuits on my thing.EclipticOlive54 wrote...

Very sorry to hear about your situation...
Me I have the opposite problem. I preordered in store at Gamestop, and when I go check on their Power Up Rewards site, it shows under my preorders that I have 3 copies preordered lmao. Very odd glitch.
Same with me LoL:o

Wow, just wow. That's the last time I buy anything from them if that's the way they treat their customers.ToAoM wrote...

Really sorry to hear about both of your problems.
Something I found rather ironic too is that play are advertised as offering the pre-order bonuses for DA2 (regular edition) on the European DA2 website and yet if you actually look, they don't mention the pre-order bonuses on their site at all.

What platform though. There were some reported problems with Xbox orders.

wow thats lame. there's something fishy here. If they say they ran out but they have more than enough and Godzilla ordered on the last day. what could it be? it could be mistake on their part and its easy to just chalk it up to being "we don't have enough"
Yeah I agree with you there it doesnt make any sence what so ever, personally after hearing that they done that to someone I'm not gonna order of play.com again, they cant treat people like that.Disgraceful

As far as I can tell that is what happened. i received a message from play that I needed to verify my Mastercard securecode. Which is standard procedure, but I had already verified my code in december. It looks like they tried to renew the payment and something in their system went wrong.
First they said it was my fault. And that I should have had my bank contact them
Then they said it was their fault, but that they coudn't renew the order as the item is no longer for sale
When i confronted them that it was a pre-order item that isn't due for another month they said that they would check again.
They said my payment was in order, that my verification was ok, but that they had run out of stock.
As far as I can tell it's nonsense, but I'm not ordering with play.com again.

It's just a shame you can only order software from amazon.de here in holland, otherwise I would have bought the signature edition from them. Chances of getting a german language version are too great. I want the original version.

Why not amazon.co.uk then? They even have free delivery to Netherlands.

When I tried in december, they wouldn't yet. All my future orders will be through them I guess ;D

I don't know about hardware, but you may check here and here. My brother ordered SE (PC) to The Netherlands from them, so I know it works.
Anyway, the whole thing with play.com is terribly messed up. Unfortunately from the realistic point of view, single customer can do nothing but learn from mistakes and take his future purchases elsewhere.
