Wow thanks for posting this, I usually buy everything from play. I only chose another site because it has faster delivery. After hearing this it's amazon from now on.

Lol don't jump the gun... Amazon and Amazon UK aren't doing particularly well atm either. AmazonUK either don't know about the promo items or have for some ungodly reason opted out of the promo, whilst there are rumours the same for AmazonUS.

Great, the whole world is going to ****. If I actually have to go outside the house to get my games I'm going to be very angry.
And sad:crying:

If you live in the UK, I would go with Game.co.uk, they have quick, free delivery and optional pickup if you want (I usually pick up with them because they have a store like 5 minutes away from my house). I'm not sure how good they are with DLC and promo items but they are a pretty sound company.

I live in norway, but I like to use UK stores because they're usually much cheaper.

Yes well several other retailers have had similar information advertised then posted out emails saying exactly the opposite.

Well so far, there has been no emails from amazon stating such a thing. If someone heard otherwise from an employee, im betting the employee got confused. It happens. Sometimes communication within a company gets messed up.

I'll be genuinely surprised, as well as happy for you, if you get anything other than a generic/automated reply about "certain retailers may not have opted in to the promotion" etc ...

@Saphara: AmazonUK WERE however up on the list of participating retailers. Then they got taken down. And with the confusion from the replies from AmazonUK to people its sounding more and more like they didn't even know about any extra item promotions to begin with.

Play don't seem to have contacted Bioware as they are still saying they have no more stock. I'm disappointed in all parties concerned. Never mind, there are lessons to be learned for the future I'm sure.

To give a bit of an update on this(excuse the bump); I recently got a message telling me to click verify on 1 of the 2 orders before dispatch. That's fine, though i was unable to in my account. So I spent an hour on the phone with them and spoke to a senior manager who told me that he's going to contact their supplier directly .... so, here's to hoping, if Chris Priestly's right; my copies should be safe.

This is why I will never ever order a game online. There are always these stories on every forum for every game. I feel bad for those that go this route but brick and mortar will always be better for 1 main reason. It is always harder to screw over someone that can come into your store and look you in the face. Play.com doesn't give a **** about you but Bill down at the game stop cares a lot about people coming in and giving him **** in his store.

That's exactly what happened to me, and they failed.

Surely the retailer will refund you if they have your money?

I don't think that's the point. SE can't be sold anymore so since they cancled his SE, he won't get one at all.

Well he could always buy one from Ebay or Amazon...for a really high price...

I ordered 1 copy for myself and 1 copy for a friend.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Same happened to me with the vertify the preorder thing and within 5 minutes was told there was no way I should have been asked to vertify it. According to their system everything is fine and there's no problem.

They cancelled it today.

I am furious. I fully intend to inform Bioware and EA as well as the various trading standards bodies. Thing is this all seems highly suspicious a month ago it was stock problems and now as far as I can tell NO ONE has been able to vertify their orders without phoning the company directly.

I reckon the more formal complaints the better - there's definately a problem.

Sorry, there isn't anything you or BioWare /  EA can do about this situation.
