I pity the kid that gets named Mike Hawke...

Actually it sounds pretty cool.

You should pitty the kid that will be named "Dovakhiin" after Bethesda encouraged couples to name newborns after Skyrim's hero.

Do you imagine the amount of money these kids will spend on therapy when they are grown ups?

Congratulations on your baby daughter and you have chosen a lovely name.

Leliana was by far i feel the most popular character. Certainly for me. She was/is my love..

I konw this is kinda a dead thread, but my wife and I are also naming our daughter Leliana, however we've always heard them say "Lilyana" and people have been telling us that this spelling would be "Leh-li-ana". Have I been mistaken on how her name is prounced all this time, or is this just another form of spelling for the name "Lilyana"

Personally, I've always thought the pronounciation would be "Leh-li-ana" as well - I guess it's often just spoken so fast that the "Lehli"-part can come off as "Lily-". Behindthename.com also doesn't know "Leliana" but a "Lilyana" (Bulgarian form of "Lillian", which in turn is supposed to be a diminutive of "Elizabeth" or an elaboration of "Lily"), which may affect people's expectations if they have heard the other name somewhere.

Anyways, I think it's a beautiful name (also has a nice meaning to it, if it truly is derived from the Latin "lilium" = flower, symbol of purity). Congrats on the child(ren)!

It is most definitely "Leh-li-ana".

Anyways, congrats (to all the Leliana's)! :)

Congrats on the new addition.

FWIW, I believe it is a French name, alternative spelling:  L'Eliana

That would make the name mean "The Eliana."  That is highly unlikely.  France banned "creative" spelling of baby names until 1993, and birth registrars in France are still allowed to veto children's names if they are too wacky or controversial.

Hmmm...  I've seen some different interpretations on different sources, so I don't really know what to think.  One source says it's French, but another source lists L'Eliana as a city in Spain.

I'm glad you spoke up.

Ok thank you all for the help, as much as we like the Dragon Age Leliana, with it being said like "leh-li-ana" we're going to go with the spelling "Liliana". Again thank you for everybody being so friendly!
