I think shapeshifting had more potential, too:
(potential spoiler alert)
I really liked the shape-shifting in the fade. That was really interesting, because the forms were not only useful, but needed to get through. Also it was possible to apply various tactics there. I would have loved those shapes as opposed to the "regular" shapes. In fact I tend to believe this specialization is created for the sake of giving Morrigan a unique feature. Perhaps the fade-shapes are simply too far off normal reality to be learned by a human outside of the fade.
(spoiler alert end)
Shapeshifter - rather useless?

You guys are forgetting additionally stat effect, swarm was wonderful if low on health and OOM. Spider??? I poisoned so many bosses and put morrigan back to spell casting. It was so useful.
Swarm is also very handy against Archer ambushes...

hmm i founded the shapeshifter tree kind of useless, as i never used it.
Morrigan is way better with high magic and aoe stun spells
.
Usually cone is more helpful in a fight that all the shapeshifts combined
Also you lose the party buffs if u transform. in my 1st campaign with human noble i took all the tree and tried all the forms but now i will not invest in it. I will try the BM proficiency.

it depends how you play.
ive used morrigan's spell forms fairly often, not too frequently though.
it adds something depending on your party make up at the moment or not.
- personally i think the main problem with shapeshifter is the casting times.
IMO it should be near instantaneious- largely i might be biased towards that because of the sacred ashes cgi trailer where morrigan instantly transforms after a series of gymnastic flips,
or that i think it would make the class' usefullness more readilly apparant since you can pre-set a shapeshifter mage into "tank form" and have it happen without interruption or damage risk when attacked as part of the tactics menu.
imagine how much MORE effective and fearsome the specialization would be if you can near-instantly become a bear when a powerfull enemy attacked your spellcaster.
of course you lose the ability to cast spells- but thats a fine trade off for using shapeshifting as a defensive tactic.

I've been worried about whether or not Shapeshifting is bugged. If so, it needs to be fixed.
