Here is the soundt track to the popular NWN2 Mod "Maimed God's Saga"
http://www.strangeca...uctions.com/
just click the banner.
What is cool is the way the tracks are ordered to create a evocative experience like the story of the mod.
The Sound Track is Two Volumes.
I think Music is being taken more seriously for Mods now.
Thanks for your time. If you have any questions let me know

no just Maimed God's Saga. I was trying to decide on if I should pitch for a game or contact developers but I really needed to make sure I knew some samples well. I wanted to create a full Game Sound Track.
Luckly I was contacted for Maimed God's Saga and able to compose a sound track.
I tried to treat that mod like a Large High Production title a AAA title. Doing everything myself though.

Yes, the soundtrack for MGS was really awesome and added a lot to the atmoshpere of the mod. Much better then in many commercial AAA games.
Good Job!

I want to add my appreciation and encouragement to the composer as well. He did a bang-up job on TMGS and it was much appreciated.

Great guys! One thing, the sound track is better then the in game music. A sound track isn't just the tracks from a game but are tracks that create a sound track, that means pieces flow better together, endings fade better, and bonus tracks. I'll do a summery of the sound track little later.

Very cool collaboration. You should tell all your composer friends the same things. NWN2s modding community could always benefit from this type of collaboration. And, putting up videos of in game music/action on YouTube would be a great promotional validation of your efforts, on both sides of the collaborative fence.

Cool idea dunniteowl but that's not happening. I will be doing stuff for youtube but those will be BLAME! videos to that popular manga. (That style is Dark IDM electronica)
People do not care for the music as much as they should.
It is a lot of work to create a game sound track.
Thanks for that though^_-

For anyone that cares....
How themes are used in a game like film sound track
The game opens up with The Journey Begins
That piece consists of The Church theme which represents the theme of the game and Tyr's theme.
The Fields, World Music consists of Tyr's Theme.
The Cathedral is the Church Theme
The Glade of Miracle is an Arrangment of Tyr's Theme
The Church Theme plays in The Fallen Paladins and in Malars Boss Music Theme
The Journey Ends has both The Church Theme and Tyr's Theme in it.
ok Navatranaasu is the Cursed town theme.
The Vanghaunts Curse theme uses Navatranaasu Theme
Navatranaasu is also the opening of The Mistress Boss theme, and Navatranaasu Bonus
Fields 2 is a varation of the main Fields theme which is the main worlds Theme
Verona by the fire is a shortened version of Veronas Song, Unfulfilled Promise
Unfulfilled Rromise is used in The Journey Ends as the main romance theme.
Malars Theme is Shades of Evil and Shades of Evil 2. That theme is used in Blood Lust, Feast of Flesh
and God of The Hunt. The Theme represents darkness.
Battle Music Theme is the Opening of Battle Music 2 Theme
and also uses the same Rhythm as Blood Lust
You can see how themes are used and re-used to create a continuious score no matter how big the score is.
This technique is called Lemotif. And in Games is popularized by Nobou Uematsu Final Fantasy Fame.
In films it's John Williams and Star Wars.
Journey Begins and Journey Ends both use The Church Theme and Tyr's Theme
to close the Suite.
Sound wise the consistancy of instruments and use of choirs, children choirs, make it sound like it belongs to
the same work.
If some one were to say add electric guitars and drums to battle piece that would sound really out of place in this type of score.

Im curious why the midi synth pad i bought has only the crappiest of instrument sounds and why theres not even software to make it work. All I can see on the web are multi thousand dollar packages that I dont even know are appropriate cuz they dont let me sample them.

Eguintir Eligard can you tell me what synth pad you bought or are using thanks!
Slowdive.fan yo! My set up is pretty simular to everyone elses.
Tone Hammer Samples
East West Sounds Online Samples
Bel D Media Samples
LASS(Scoring Strings)
UAD 2 FX plugins
Nomad Factory FX Plugins
Sound Toys FX Plugins
Cubase 4
Altiverb
Roland Samples Synths
ok to much to list.
I composed Maimed God's Saga on Staff Paper then made a map and mapped out how the music would go for each character and place and how they would relate in the story. I then arranged the pieces in Cubase. Generally when I am composing it's on paper then on the computer it's arranging and production.
The music I am doing now is more industrial styles even the Ambient styles.
So I am using Sounds that Compliment that but also Choirs, (Children's Choirs ToneHammer)
EastWest DarkSide Biomechnoids Sound Packs for Abynth 3 etc, Lot's of things.
The Choir in Maimed God's Saga was EastWest's Choirs and also Bel D Media's Giovani.
I did add Tone Hammer Requiem when I made the soundtrack for Sale. This is because I had a hell of time getting EastWest's Choir to work for me. Now though they have it built into word Builder so it's not to much a problem.

they have sales all the time! 2 for 1 sales all the time.
Just keep an eye on there web page www.soundsonline.com for there sales on the composer pack.
you should be able to pretty much do anything with that.
if you need any help just PM me.

I have an Axiom 25 I bought in the paper (M-audio).
Now Im pretty much stuck cuz even looking at the controls of the software (If I even had any) is just crazy. I can play a keyboard but there is SOO much crap out there to A learn, but B first pay a c ouple grand to get I really have no idea how people get started as a keyboard playe or programmer.
I definitely was interested in large orchestral and vocal type instruments.

God is that Cheap! I won't even say what I payed for Choirs when I bought it!
but hey let's do this cheaply^_- also I will help you learn all this!
Go here to learn everything on hooking up and getting started http://www.tweakheadz.com/
alright Eguintir Eligard download this: http://www.reaper.fm/ it's free the best out there really for sequencers that are so cheap! 40 dollars at the most!
Then go here : http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/
Get free synths, fx and, other fx.
Then for orchestra get this: http://www.garritan....d=154&Itemid=54
Now for choirs let me think of something cheap....hmmm EastWest Silver probably.
you could get Silver here: http://www.soundsonl...honic-Orchestra
Silver Addition is the cheaper one you could get that instead of GPO 4. Silver comes with some choir samples.
Hope that helps and helps anyone else that wants to start out.
Thanks!

I know some are curious so here is by "memory" the samples used in Maimed God's Saga Music.
For Orchestra I just used:
Gold PLAY from EastWest I still don't have Platinum Plus installed.(just sitting here)
I added cut high frequencies to the violins to darken them up more
Choirs I used: Giovani by Bel D Media and EastWest's Choir
and Bel D Medias Tenor Solo Lib. (Soundtrack I used ToneHammer's Requiem)
One of the Harps is The Garriatan Giga Harp(I still consider the best)
For winds I used: Celtic Winds by Tari(Bel D Media) EastWest's RA Sample Lib
and SampleTekks Renaissance Flutes
Keyboards I used: BolderSounds Keyboards
Synths I can't remember Absynth 3 some other stuff.
Percussion I used: Tone Hammer Zero G's Celtic Lib and various Celtic Samples.
Bel D Meia Tari's Sampled Landscapes. CineSamples Drums of War.
I was using SampleCities Lexicon 960 on everything
I also used various Altiverb Concolution reverbs
UAD Reverb Pro
some delays some chorus UAD FX. (Universal Audio)
I used Various Renaissance instrument samples. Antique instruments or something
every track was sent through UAD 670 FairChild Compressor and Limiter.
Strings I used: EastWest's Gypsy Lib and RA ...Xsamples Solo Cello
Solo Girl Singer I used: EastWest's Voices of Passion
That's all I can remember^_-
