Its very helpful to realize this incase some of you haven't thought of it

For instance I'm playing the circle tower and didn't know there was gonna be a mage mini boss in addition to a mob of like 50 zombies behind a door that would ambush me , and I ended up killed

Then I reload and now knowing they were behind the door I cast tempest , blizzard , and death cloud all BEHIND the door and they all died without even having a chance to attack my party

Then actually ambushed the next room with tempest and death cloud giving my party an advantage

A similar thing also happened once in redcliffe castle too

In general it can be used to see if you are going to be ambushed in the next room or if the next room is safe

It's great. Especially if you have a point in Survival. You can know where they are before you open it. Then unload death.

I came up with an even better thing just now

You have yourself cast one

Then have Morrigan and/or Wynn cast one too

It gives you an insane advantage over them

I do blizzard and Wynns earthquake hits about 1 second later

By the time they can hit any of us most of them are dead

I suggest not using this tactic as it makes gameplay too easy, even on Nightmare.  Stealth in, set a trap or glyph the doorway, begin battle with a blizzard, and the enemies who aren't frozen in the storm have a Cone of Cold and a couple of traps waiting for them.   Tactics like this make most of Nightmare a walk in the park.

It sure has been making normal a walk in the park

I haven't had a gameover except when I (without saving) did what must be done to unlock reaver

Stupid anti spoiler section , I guess some of you know what I'm talking about

Edit : Oh yeah , and when I was in the fade by myself and got raped by like 10 enemies at once on multiple occassions

Actually considering that stuff

I have had no full party game overs so there
