there have been a lot of questions about how to make a werewolf mod, or a mod that makes your toon a goat or whatever.

I'm looking for pointers on a more simplistic mod that would only affect skin color. I thought I was on the right track, but then bonked.

I understand how to specify certain settings when a module loads. I can, for example, have a level 4, elf, noble, rogue, with skills X, Y, and Z. but how can I force a skin tint? Also, when I do this, my toon is invariably bald headed. there don't seem to be any CHARGEN events that will designate hair or a specific morph to be used.

I've created a material, t1_skn_blu, and applied it to a head morph, and am able to create blue skinned elf NPCs. My module requires that the player themselves also be an outsider (with blue skin).

I thought I was pretty clever, and had an idea of how to test it in the single player environment. I exported the TNT as t1_skn_007, and then created a new character using the 7th (darkest) skin tint. I saved the game, and then dropped the t1_skn_007 into the Single Player override folder, but nothing changed. Just to cover all bases, I made 6 other copies of the file, and named them _001-_006, but nothing.

any help?
