I found archry weak in da1 but i decided to go for it on my first playthrough of da2 see if its been improved.

I never even beat da1 with archer.

Eventually, but not right away. My first Warden was a Dalish archer, so I'm going a different route with my first Hawke. I might make my first fem!Hawke my archer, though.

I'd do it if warriors could dual wield, but as it stands that's pretty low on my priority playthrough list.

I will if the actually support archery this time. In Origins it seemed like archery was an afterthought. But considering my favorite ME class is infiltrator, you know I love to reign silent death upon my enemies.

Archery weak?? Dear Sir have you seen the arrow of slaying skill? My female dalish warden beat the game with only her archery skills. That was my second playthrough and one of my favourites.

I will if it has that triple bowed longbow I requested.

I was playing archer on patch 1.0 it might have been buffed.

Archery was weak in Origins but in Awakening it was obscenely overpowered.

I didn't find it weak, actually. I quite enjoyed it. The most fun I ever had was with my Dalish rogue archer. Archery got a little overpowered once you got into Awakening though.

I fully intend to to play DA2 with an archer on my first run.

I was never much for archery in Origins, but I've been thinking of giving it a whirl in DA2. Especially if I can steal Sebastians really cool looking bow. (I know clothes can't be changed, but what about weapons?)

I think it looks fun.

If you watch combat walkthrough one of the rouges uses a crossbow and he seems to good good.

I did that playthrough on patch 1.0 as well. I'm not sure what our differences were but I'd show you some screenshots if I hadn't deleted my game and saves in a moment of madness,, :pinched: I will forever rue that day.

I just hope companions with archery are better, I had to grit my teeth watching a companion standing inches away from a target shooting arrows into it, I just hope they give the companion AI a little more intelligence to maintain distance, it should not be hard as they could use the optimal distance if room permits.

Archery was bugged back then. It wasn't using dexterity or something to properly deal damage like it was supposed to. They had a hotfix for PC, but eventually it was introduced into a patch at a later date. I can't remember which one exactly though.

I loved archery in DA:O! I played a warrior archer City Elf as my main Warden and she was barrells of fun. Sadly, I won't be playing archery for my first Hawke -- going heals -- but my second one probably will be :)

*This* is the one thing that made me go WTF? I'd be moving away to fire my arrows while leliana would be firing at point blank range. My warden would drop her weapons and go *facepalm*

I probably won't be Archer in my -first- Hawke. My first one will be probably a mage. I think that a bow must be used with grace, so I want to make a gracious Archer. Aura was a b**** with capital b, but boy, she was like a feather <3

No, why would I subject myself to something like that? * shudders*

Archery sucks and mages sucks. Happiness is swinging around a giant ego-extension that's able to cut a horse in half with one blow.

Rogue Archer was my absolute favorite class.  I'm really going to miss the Bard specialization, though. Posted Image  I have a rogue archer for each race.  Sometimes two or three.  It never gets old. Posted Image

LOL! Been reading Bezerk much Maria?

On topic : Definetely not in my first 3 playthroughs( one rogue)...but maybe in my 4th, depends on whether or not I think Sebastin/Varric do enough in the roll that I won't need to take it over myself.
