Check the "what we know so far" stickied thread. There's the references.
And yes, companion customization is stat-based only this time. Armor changes when the plot, not the player, demands it, but you'll be able to attach enchantments to the armor. You can still choose weapons, belts, and miscellaneous for your companions.

Gah.. I'll take your word for it- I'm too lazy and that thread is too long.

It's a portmaneau of people and sheep, usually reffering to people who never raise a fuss and take everything without objection.

It's a portmanteau of sheep and people. It means you're a mindless follower of group mentality.

You're such a nice person.<_<

I really liked the variety of armor in DA: O,

Really? Other than massive armours, the variety of armour downright *sucked* in DA:O. There were maybe three or four models per armour type and everything was a reskin of those.
Take Wade's Superior Dradeskin Armor, for example. The best light armour in Origins. It looks exactly the same as any piece of armour of the 'leather' variation, and playing a rogue on 75% of my play-throughs it has left me thoroughly disappointed.

Now I hope that, with less armours in the game, the ones that are there are more varied and detailed.

I believe you Dhiro, and I smirked, but it's still an undercutting insult. Let's just get back to the issue on hand.

It might be long, but it is neatly subdivided with headers for easy perusal. anyway, there you go:

Snipped inventory bits
Inventory is shared, as it was in Origins. [Mike Laidlaw] 11/11
Hawke's inventory is just like Origins. Same slots and functionality. [DA2 Podcast #5] 11/11
Followers still have ring, amulet, belt, and weapon slots, but they have a single slot for outfits. [DA2 Podcast #5] 11/11
Follower outfits are still upgradeable...just not with the same gear you can use for Hawke. [DA2 Podcast #5] 11/11
Follower gear will upgrade automatically over the course of time jumps. [DA2 Podcast #5] 11/11

Well that means inventory shouldn't get flooded as much (well I'm hoping).

Oh, I see :< Sorry, Maria.

This one understands Image IPB

On Topic: Yeah, the one outfit per person thing is quite lame, but as long as I get to bling them out with rings, belts, and necklaces i couldn't care less.

I want to see the accessaries...i demand them to be physically on the characters. At least give us the ability to see the accessaries.

Ah, brilliant. I'm glad companion outfits are at least modifiable in some way. I was a little disappointed in ME2 that their outfits couldn't be changed, especially when Garrus had to run around with a huge burnt hole in his armour. I wonder if the "upgrades" in DA2 will completely change the appearance of the outfit or simply change it stats-wise.

Even though in theory I might prefer the RPG-ish inventory and whatnot, I find Mass Effect 2 to somehow top the original, a different but somehow even better game.

Now, with Dragon Age I'll miss things like armor more though, since it's heart is more oldschool anyway. Game still looks great though.

I think it worked ok in ME2 because the game was so short and you had so little interaction with crew members that seeing them look the same all the time didn't detract much.  I'm hoping DA2 does not have that "wait, it's over already?" feeling.

I'd say it's timeline and character specific. Check Aveline for example, we have seen her so far in her civilian clothes and at least two different sets of armor. Meanwhile, we've seen only one look for Isabela.

In portuguese is more a tease than a insult, so... yeah :< I don't think there's exactly a translation of sheeble. Not in the offensive fashion, I suppose.

I don't like it, but it's not game-breaking.

I'd accep it easier if the companion outfits all made sense (yes, I'm looking at you, Isabela)

I didn't feel like there was a massive variety of armor in the DA:O anyway, I don't mind the companions having set outfits, I am hoping though they will change over the 10 year period, perhaps our in-game decisions may effect what type of outfits they wear? e.g. If there is a character who can be 'hardened' or 'unharded' Like Alistair could be in DA:O...

Would be a nice touch I think, aslong as my main character is fully customisable, I am quite happy with the RPG elements to the game.

Let's not take a leap here, I agree that keeping all the various RPG elements such as armor intact is preferable, but this is not exactly the same as ruining everything.

Hmm, I quite like putting different characters in different armour ie Alistair in Cailan's armour, Oghren in the Legion of the Dead armour and so forth.

But I'm willing to reserve judgement till I see DA2

I think the "It's over already?" had more to do with the plot than the game length. ME 2 took me the same amount of time as ME 1 but I didn't get that feeling with it.

I felt the same thing about ME 2. I just assumed it was because I had played Dragon Age before playing ME 2.

When you look at it, the plot of Mass effect is: "Gather these people, go to the final dungeon". It lacks a second act after gathering the people.

You come from a JRPG background. Looks are much more restricted on those. Since you're already accostumed, you don't see the loss the same way people who's been playing western RPGs mostly do.

He might be one of those deviants that thinks a unique apperance is superior to a generic one. You know, the difference between DA2 and DA:O.
