Lol, it's true Wynne only looks cool in full mage robe ! Even the Tevinter one that lets you see some skin was pretty disturbing on her.

What Bioware could have done is have the different armors look unique depending on who wears it, à la Diablo 2 (but perhaps it's what they're doing to some extent, see Aveline and her armor upgrade : perhaps that's not based on the timeline but on what you actually equip her with).

Alot of player choice has been removed from this series, this is not surprising, its just another way for them to pump out the games faster and make more money, it happens with almost every successful game these days, likely the game will be less than 20 hours and have very limited replay value (everything is getting streamlined).

In 12-14 months you will see another DA game come out, with even less player choice, unless DA2 flops and nobody buys the DLC.

Dont get me wrong, I really like ME2, but I think implementing the dialogue wheel and hardly any companion custimization (visual wise), into a game like DA is a mistake, the draw for many people is making the characters on your team look a certain way, as you are the one controlling them in many instances.

I will reserve judgement until i see some actual reviews of the final build, but with the Witcher 2 and Elder scrolls coming out this year, I have a feeling DA2 will be last on that list because its getting away from being an actual RPG, and while the story will probably be ok, the actual meat of the gameplay will be gone.

I don't understand this at all. What's the problem with it? Oh so you limit to just upgrading your armor, who cares? I mean it NOT like you guys are not going to get it.  Posted Image

Not the PC's armor, the companions' armor.

And it's likely some has been added, so what you have here is a reasonably sweeping assumption.

I look forward to TES5 as well but it's a different type of RPG ; I don't expect a story or characters while I know I'll have that in DA2.

TES is more about wandering in the wilderness until you come accross some creepy NPC who's got a name, a horse, his own house, his own time schedule, a bed, a change of clothes, meat, fruit, vegetables, a couple of books, a weapon, money, a newspaper, hammers, shears, menstrual pads, whatever, and is still somehow completely lifeless and uninteresting. Besides, I'm afraid that game will require a major computer upgrade for some of us.

Er, I believe that the purpose of giving each character their own separate piece of armor isn't to cut back on choice; when you make armor sets inter-changable, then everyone has the same body set. This wouldn't make sense for a mage to have the exact same body type as a warrior; it would take far too much time to make completely new models to fit every single possible class, race, and specialization. Sure, you might be able to do it for one set of armor, but to do it with all of them? With enough different types of armor to keep people from wearing the exact same thing and keep classes easily distinguishable? Too much work; if BioWare spends too much time on clothes, the story and characters will suffer for it.

Also, I like being able to easily tell the difference between two characters at-a-glance. If everybody's wearing the standard dragonbone armor, I have to think about who's who. I might target someone I don't want to by accident and send, say, my squishy rogue charging in headfirst while the tank tries to back stab people with a shield. (I'm kind of an idiot that way, others might not have that problem, though.)

So I'm fine with it, they could be dressed in potato sacks for all I care; as long as I get my story.

Just face facts. This is a 3rd person action game... not an RPG.

Because you're not roleplaying your entire party doesn't necessarily mean it's not a role-playing game.

That's not news in any shape or form. You still have to upgrade their equipment, even if only put runes on them.

You know, if I've had to look at Morrigan's outfit or whatever you want to call it, the whole of DA:O through, I would have gone insane. Some people liked it, I despised it. And Io and behold, it didn't matter, because I could simply put her in something else. But if I play DA2, I have to look at Isabella's outfit the whole game through.... no way!

It irritated the c*** out of me in ME2, and I simply don't get what is behind these design-choices. It seems as they are hell-bent on forcing their idea of cool looking outfits on people, wether we like it or not. Of course, we can get to play for DLC with new outfits later... <_<. And call colour reversion a new design.

I said it before: WHO CARES?

I mean it's just a game: Do. or Do not.

No one holding a sword behind you and say: Play!

:o:blink: Really? Gosh! I never knew. But the fact that I'll have to not use her, because I cannot put her in something sensible, considering the flashing blades and flying arrows, that does not strike you as being irritating at all? Of course not, because YOU like it, so to h*** with all those who do not!
