One thing that I hope they focus on in ME3 is Garrus' family

I was hoping for at least a side mission. It could be pretty emotional if done right.thatguy212 wrote...
maybe a side mission at the most

Even 1 is pushing it. One quest related to a single character would mean one for others as well. Then ME3 would be just like ME2.
I do not want!

Tali, Kaiden and Ashley didn't have their own sidequest in ME1, no one complained. Besides, there's already a story set up.Pwner1323 wrote...

Kinda funny that Garrus is probably the only ME2 squadmate who still has a full family at home, every other character has either lost family members/loved ones or have very disjointed relationships from family conflicts, at least Garrus is still in contact with his. Either way it'd be cool to see clan Vakarian one day.

Tali has one sorta, and Kaiden and Ashley didn't have a personal side quest because they were love interestsPsychoWARD23 wrote...

as much as I like Garrus (he's prob my favorite char after Liara...and only because I romance her)...wtf point would we have in dealing with family? didn't we play psychologist enough in ME2 with all the daddy issues?
ME3 should be focused on STOPPING the Reapers...not cuddle parties with our crew and their familys...seriously...STUPID idea..(for any NPC not just our armored birdman)

And yeah, meeting Mr Vakarian Sr. would be interesting. I heard that he doesn't like Spectres, or Humans, and hates rule-breakers. I bet my Spacer/Ruthless FemShep represents to him all that is wrong in the galaxy. Imagine it. Grumpy old Turian vs. First Human Spectre. The LULz.

I expect the dad to hate Shep passionately and I think a sidequest or two were he sends you to do difficult and multi mission tasks before he even lets you within ear shot of his wife sense he hates Shep and most likely by now thinks ill of his son. I image if you overcome what he puts forth he still won’t be happy but maybe the sister intervenes and says they did your task let them go in or I’ll call security to haul you out and she goes with them to see her/their mom. I’d like to talk one on one with her like Feron and if BW makes her a one-night option (sense I know someone somewhere will eventually request this so why not shoot that bullet now).
If this option was to take place your LI would be mad if you cheated on them and weather you have an LI or not Garrus should definitely have something to say on the matter. It sounds like they aren’t too close but I still can’t imagine him say I’m fine with you banging and leaving my sis. Anyway if you used SB DLC to get that drug company clearance you now have a viable option to present to the family and his mother will finally start to show signs of improvement but if you didn’t invest with that company then she will die I don’t think her death should be that day maybe later in the game and if so I hope we get to go to a Turian funeral I’d like to see the different attire and the custom it’s very rare in games to show funerals. And of course so BW knows if such funeral or dying event should occur character development for both Shep and Garrus don’t leave it one sided!

HERE'S AN IDEA: Let's make his fam a topic of discussion so he has more to talk about besides calibrations, eh?

You know, things can add flavor to a character without requiring a sidequest to flesh them out.

As for that idea, the problem is, calibrations are now a deeply-rooted core element of Garrus's character. Therefore, calibrations would have to be tied in to the family conversation. Like, say, he can talk about calibrating with his sister... wait. That idea just went somewhere horrible.

That idea... implications unpleasant.
