Templar Warrior, because it's good for killing Mages.

Spirit Healer mage is by far the strongest class.
Then probably Rogue - though it is weak at start, later in combining Assassin with Shadow you can one-shot most of the enemies, except for bosses(sometimes even them though - through Assassinate).
The weakest is probably warrior. None of his speces or specializations dose`t seems to be as strong as the mages/rogue ones. I tried both 2hander and shield+weapon, and none of them was`t as effective as Rogue or Mage.

Sir, you are true master in bumping your own threads.
17 days WOW. I may be wrong but looks like this is your new record.

Rogue is the most fun to play. All 3 of the specializations can be deadly.
Mage is the best for getting the most out of the story.

Mages Force Mage and Spirit Mage spec.
Elemental mastery+ Primal mastery+ Entropy (just hex of torment and horror)+ Arcane (mind blast and crushing prison)+ full sprit healer= massive death kill.

The ninja, since they can teleport and turn invisible.

Mage definitely.
It opens up so much choice in party selection for one thing, the opposite being Rogue I would say

Mage is the best class in Dragon Age 2, hands down. I feel more involved in the game because of the rivalry that
involves the mages. Also you get to throw out wicked amounts of damage without trying.
Rogue is the most fun to play (in my opinion) only because I like to feel like I can creep on my targets from the
shadows.

Rogue, mages were better in the first game with arcane warrior, warriors bored me but i did finish DA2 with one, not fulfilling at all

Am I the only one who liked the S/S warrior?
Sure it was as overkill as the rogue and not as much aoe as the mage, but I liked it.

Rogue(Archer and DW) was the most fun for me plus made party picking easier because i didnt need to always have another rogue in the party other then that i'd say mage with the Force Mage talent i found the blood Mage and Healing trees to be rather pointless though i always defaulted to a cold damage staff with a nature and electrical damage staff as back up as these cover most of the enemies in the broadest sense

Given that this thread is 10 months old, it wouldn't surprise me if I responded already somewhere, however...
I have come to like being a spirit healer/force mage. I feel like I'm in control of the action with the crowd control and heal spells. Also, with mages being able to use their staff as a melee weapon, I hardly feel like a spectator with healing aura active and offensive spells disabled. My mage Hawke feels almost like an arcane warrior, minus the massive tank armor, though rock armor gives a nice armor boost.
While dual weapon rogues and offensive mages may do more damage, I always hate when enemies die with so little effort, and it makes me feel like I'm rushing through the game and not really enjoying the combat. Tank/healer builds generally fit my playstyle the most, as I favor durabiltiy and survivability over one shot kills and speed runs.

I am not sure yet; however Rogues fancy most individuals play. I played as a Rogue in the first installment. I shall try Rogue again.<3

There are specific battles in the game that make specific characters superior to others - DWing High Dragon or Leopold is a pain in the ***, same goes for soloing Arishok with a Berserker - but in general I'd say:
1)DW Rogue - it's an overkill
2)S&B Berserker - fun factor (ever seen one in action with a physical weapon against a crowd of mobs? CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! It's amusing)

In terms of gameplay, Mage is definitely the most fun class to play. The problem is, the mage storyline makes no sense. I'm not talking about the "pro-mage" path, but the fact that NO ONE outside your party seems to be able to tell Hawke is a mage unless their name is Flemeth or Meredith. And don't get me started on Blood mage Hawke.
As for the other classes, they are both fun, though the rogues, as is usually the case in Bioware RPGs, are easier ways to rack up EXP because of opening locks and disabling traps. Archers COULD be more fun except there are times when you need to play with Varric in the team, and he, plus a mage, means that you better be ready to heal the sole fighter on the front lines.

I like being a Mage when it comes to the story. I feel that the story is stronger when you are a Mage.
