Arcane Warrior! Wait I got the good one mixed up with the crappy one. Mage is the only class that ALMOST made sense. All the others, they had no reason to be there and decide anything.

i tend to use console commands and make up my own class i start off as a Mage cause it has the best story. I then remove any talents i will never use and replace them with a few from warrior and a few from rogue. I ended up with a duel wielding spell casting bringer of death.

Archer. It was a big improvement over DAO's version, and liked using archer's lance on lines of frozen enemies. I also though the force mechanic was cool. Mage was cool too, but I preferred DAO's version of the mage.

blood mage.
EDIT: although, I just did a rogue playthrough and used the assasin specialisation. Great against lone targets, and evens the odds considerably (twin fangs and assassinate ftw)

Warrior
Three completed playthroughs, all rogues, I just have a lot of fun with them, and all the different stuff you can set them up to do based on whether you specialize in the basic skills, or mix and match for effect.

Clear Mage, i just love to stand behind everybody else and cast my walking bomb, or heal team members. Ice magic is also great ( i m not a huge fire fan)
Second i think is still the Warrior (thanks to Varric and bianca) Its just so "knight-in-shiny-armor" like...

I agree that mages were the best class by far. Bioware should really make a good attempt to make warriors better. They should certainly get better talents. Some warrior talents were so dumb. They should get rid of exploding bodies and should replace it with decapitations.

Well, that depends. Gameplay wise, I'd say the rouge or the mage, depending on whether you want to specialize in taking out large groups from a distance or take out single targets crazy fast. Personally, I do rogue archer becasue they are still really powerful at close quarters and are more versatile because of that. But as a mage, I felt the whole mage vs. templar thing that the game and Anders kept beating me over the head with affected me more, and I felt more involved in it because I was a mage. And dialogue does change if you're a mage too. So, for story pick the mage. For gameplay, I'd say the rogue.

I made a mage recently and found it to be loads of fun and sorta over-powered but then I made a rogue and I coulda swore that they were way way better when game first came out haha. Gona go make another rouge and hope it gets better, well Good Luck everyone hopfully DA3 has multiplayer and we can kick eachothers bums in gut busting pvp action

Mage, but unfortunately DA2 lacks lacks and lacks again diversity in builds (which is one of my main reasons to load a game up and try it again: for a different build for a different feel). Rogue was just plain ridiculous imo the way it moved around like roadrunner with chillies on its rear. Whatever class design they come up with, for the love puppies please give us a diverse system that allows us to create a character that feels as if it is ours and not some poor rendition of a shallow action game and even more shallow combat system.

Warriors that use greatswords got a huge buff in the game. I find them more fun to play than in Origins.
Mages lost Arcane Warrior super tanking and gained Force Mage gravity crowd control. Gravitic orb is especially fun to use on bosses.
Rouges are still DPS kings, both in Archery and Duel Weaponry.

I find that the mage is kind of pointless.
In DA:O you could have great tactics. Toss an inferno around the broodmother, everyone else defend the mage. Or toss a force field around an ally while the bad guys are beating up on him and litter the whole area with AOEs.
Basically spells are best used with great tactics to destroy the enemy. In Da2 the combat style is basically "click click click, I win". I have never need to adjust tactics or much else in battle other than tell characters to heal. So tactics are basically pointless here and by extension the usefulness of the mage is greatly diminished.
