I liked rogue most, although it was annoying that I could only use daggers with her unlike in DAO.

Rogue was my favorite class in Origins as well

Mage was perhaps a little more fun for me than rogue - a dagger wielding rogue feels somewhat overpowered.

Does anyone else find it strange that daggers tend to do more damage than EITHER normal sized sword-and-shield weapons, OR two handed weapons? Add to that that I specialized in everything that would increase my damage, criticals and chance of criticals, including maxing out the assassis tree, and say, an Ogre lasts about a second against my rogue, once I've closed the distance. :blink:

I don't know.

All I know is that I went as a Two-Handed warrior in the Reaver spec and I was destroying everything. I didn't encounter any major problems on Hard after the deep roads.

With Aura of Pain (Constant spirit damage to everything around you), Sacrifical Frenzy (makes frenzy 200% more effective), and Tornado I was doing so much damage a tank wasn't needed. Plus with Fervor each enemy you kill gives you a +30% attack speed bonus for 10 seconds, and it's a passive ability. I pretty much had +30% attack speed through the entire battle.

Also the more damage I took the more damage I dished out. When my health was low enough I was whacking enemies for like 350s with basic attacks with 30% more attack speed, hiting a large erea of enemies too since it was a 2-handed sword while I was waiting for my cool downs.

Yeah that was pretty ridiculous.  +100% damage with Whirlwind with the upgrades and +100 crit damage... It's just broken.

But of course Bioware had to put some kid of 1 hit KO move in there so that people wouldn't have to sit through swarms and swarms and swarms of pointless mobs.

warrior vs everything=win at one on one.But in team battle mages and rogues are damage dealers.Everyone has it place and everyone is the best at their field.

I dunno, I find it hard to play as anything but a damage dealer warrior with a party of
archer(rogue) = damage dealer
warrior = Tank
mage = healer/damage dealer

Assassin/Shadow rogue again.

Assassinate + Brittle = dead boss.
Plus, I love floating big numbers (usually 40k~100k).

 Warrior

The game felt horrible as a rogue, below average as a mage, but as a warrior the combat become more tolerable to me.

Mage because they force you to be a mage.

I wasn't aware - are the other classes a bug or something? Bioware really should have tested this thing more before release.

Rogues were the perfect manifestation of speed and precision - I've never felt less like a lightly-armored warrior. DAII rogues really came unto their own.

It would make sense that it'd be the Rogue. The mechanics in DA2, especially how the cunning stat raises your defense, makes the Rogue naturally more resilient AND makes it do more crit damage, on top of it being the class that deals out the most DPS and having a total damage immunity talent (stealth). Normally with other classes(not Tank warrior) you'll put almost no points into cunning. Mage is probably the most fun to play though.

First game since Diablo 2 where playing a mage was awesome to me. I was a warrior first, then I loved devastating as a mage.

Force mage was just hilarious. Fist of the Maker to knock everything down...Pull of the Abyss to drag them all on their butts helplessly in a neat pile....then Gravity Ring to freeze them all there while my Tempest shot lazers from the sky and decimated them.

rogue is by far the most fun character to play.

duelist + assassin means you can tank almost anything in the game, and you do massive damage and drop single targets (like bosses) faster than anyone else can.

i would put warrior in a close second, but they lack the same level of mobility that vendetta offers, and are more AOE oriented so they cant drop a boss like you can.

i would put mage in a distant third as they are so stupidly susceptible to having any action interrupted by a strong wind its just frustrating. mages are fun on normal setting, beyond that they are pretty awful.

its funny because if you made a list of AOE power it would be reverse.
it would go mage->warrior------------>rogue

however, if you are playing on anything beyond normal difficulty AOE powers are not that signifigant.

its just not as effective to leave 3 guys at half life all hitting you, as it is to kill 1 and have 2 at full life so you are taking 1/3 less damage.

Out of mage and warrior I liked the mage the most. We will see if that changes after I play a rogue.

As a mage who deals mainly damage spells, which two specializations are really good or work good together?
