I do, believe me. Up to this point, I had a non-neutral but detached position in the "writer wars". But Shepard in this is really the last straw. I want to play as someone else.FsDxRAGE wrote...
I'd blame the writer, not ShepardIeldra2 wrote...
If this is what we can expect from Shepard in ME3 I fear the worst. ME2's condescending SuperShep is already annoying enough. Can we now expect him to treat his team like children? And that with him, given his behaviour, having a level of intelligence Liara, Tali or Miranda could only laugh at? Hell, they could treat him as a child and would be more justified.

Why should I? I´m not paid for it. They had plenty of options of how to tell ME1´s story and they again decided to go through "cool comics stuff" way. These comics are just killing ME universe...at least for me.
They were paid to do this comic?
Why do you think people make comics, to get paid or would they just do everything for free and starve to death, They do call it a job for a reason
I meant this specific comic.
I'm not stupid.
Well of course they would get paid for the specific comic,

I just cannot understand Bioware's decision to implement THIS style, while they have such a talented, great art-team right at their disposal. This comic would have been so much better if it was drawn by Matt Rhodes or Joy Ang... but this 0815 C-comic style that doesn't fit the theme and atmosphere of ME even in the slightest.... very bad choice.
Also I simply hate how the women are displayed here. Ashley with voluminous lips, Liara with a massive reconstruction and somehow magical bigger breasts, Tali with so many ass-shots it gets annoying... and even the asari councilor has to wear a leather-robe apparently...
And it is irritating how Shepard belittles his teammates. "Energetic little quarian"? "Nice kid"? "Not as dumb as he looks"?
Gah...

I hoped that everyone had understood already that the active posters on BSN are actually the minority.Babli wrote...
Minority? Look at this thread. Everyone except "BIOWARE CAN DO NO WRONG!!!" fanboys are complaining here about low quality of that comic.
Oh, and..cool story, bro.
What's your point anyway? You said that you wouldn't be able to provide a better presentation of ME1 yourself, for the sole reason that you are not paid for it. Well, guess who else isn't!
The comic (art, writing and voice acting combined) was acceptable so far, call it average if you wish, complaining about retconing is rather hillarious if you ask for my honest opinnion. Their job was to suck the PS3 newcomers into the universe and give them a basic description of the story/characters.
'But that's not enough!'
'Did they need to do anything more?'
'Yes, the comic should be more true to Mass Effect and contain Conrad Verner and-'
'Does it provide you with a basic presentation of the story/characters/universe?'
'Yes, but-'
'Do the PS3 gamers need anything more?'
'No, but-'
'What was the basic reason behind the comic?'
'To bring PS3 players up to speed'
'Did it succeed?'
'Yes, but it's an outrage for the rest of the com-'
'Are you a PS3 player and dissatisfied by the introduction to the sequel?'
'No.'

Oh well, at least it is free. Right, does this mean there are only two outcomes of the Council choice now, even though there are actually 3 different variations of it in the 360/PC version?

Well, I, for one, would get the part where the Citadel is a mass relay linking to dark space right, something that Mac Waters's Interactive Backstory Comic didn't do. My recap of the story also wouldn't involve Liara wearing an obviously sexualized outfit, or even wearing her casual attire in combat.Phaedon wrote...
I have already said this, the comic itself was acceptable but not impressive. As for the retconning, I suggest that you personally try to describe ME1's story to a friend/random person, while being closely watched by a platoon of BSN's famous nitpickers. Please, go ahead, do it.Babli wrote...
Sure, if you like retconing, mistakes and dismissing of ME 1. Then its just awesome.Phaedon wrote...

Kaidan is obviously not a goody two shoes, as clearly presented in ME1, but rather a renegade overlord attempting to build a castle out of lolipops, which were previously stolen by babies, using biotics.'Not with real characters in game. I fail to see how Kaidan is good kid etc.'
Indeed, because the general consensus is that it sucked!'Well, they at least wont be so dissapointed with ME 2´s plot'

I'd like to see how you support that claim.'We dont know yet.'
I own a PS3.'I, neither you cant speak for them'
Something that was never mentioned in ME2.Well, I, for one, would get the part where the Citadel is a mass relay linking to dark space right, something that Mac Waters's Interactive Backstory Comic didn't do.

Not too sure about the comic itself, though. It just would have been so much better to have ME1 on PS3 as well. A comic just doesn't do that game justice and you aren't going to feel the same about the decisions you make within it without playing the real game.
Well, I suppose they've done what they could at least. It's just a shame for PS3 gamers.
Oh, and if anything, this proves that ME1 had a much better story than ME2.

The real problem with it is when you consider Mac Waters wrote that comic. And he couldn't get that fact straight. This has bad implications for ME3. I once jokingly said in a thread speculating about how the Reapers would get to Earth that "they traveled through a plot hole". Except it's now looking more like that isn't just going to be a joke.Phaedon wrote...

While I understand your concern, I wouldn't worry too much. This part is a detail, and Mac Walters did cut 90% of the details. The Smoking Man wrote...
