Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with this too. Just seems so corny, rushed and incorrect.

I hate how Shepard describes Kaiden. He acts like he is some wet behind the ears kid. I'm pretty sure Kaiden is a year or two older than you, Shepard.

That ^

Tthe dialogue read by MM just had  me rolling my eyes constantly and wondering who they expected to be watching it. The comic really skimmed over a lot, like the GETH for one. No mention of the Cypher or the Conduit at all or Vigil or even how Saren thought he could control being Indoctrinated, which had me going 'huh?'  Not once can i remember the Geth being named although you saw them dead. Or the over the top CHEESY dialogue with either Liara or Ash.
Overall...not impressed by the comic or anything else, even with the knowledge that it is supposed to recap, it seemed to really fail at that.

Really? I never knew that. Always figured the one right after the final fight was the only one.

Yeah, a dev posted about it recently:

Actually this is not a bug. Instead, often, users select the save just prior to the one created after the credits. In the flow of ME1, you'll notice that Shepard steps out of the rubble, then we do an autosave. From there, we make you decide Anderson/Udena then after the Credits roll we do a final autosave. If you didn't watch the credits that choice will not have followed into the save you brought over.

If you skip the credits the autosave isn't overwritten? This is some kind of BS. IDK about the Box, but on PC the import file is different from all other saves files, and nothing can "follow into" it as the file is first created the moment Shepard steps out of rubble.

I do understand about them skipping over a few things. Otherwise it will end up being way 2 long and some people who r new to ME would just get bored. But id think the Geth and the Conduit would be pretty important. Unfortunetly they screwed up about the Citidel and the relays. And I can't stand how Wrex looks in this comic, just looks... ughh, I can't even dexcribe it!

The only thing that bothered me about the comic is the lack of emotional connection you get with each decision and characters. I know its probably not possible unless you play the first game, but I still didn't get any feeling of why you would choose to pick Liara or Ashley - or why save Wrex, etc. Obviously it's just a comic, but I just worry about new players picking up the game and not getting the same experience that I did.

Also, do we know how they're handling the sidequests? For example, Shiala from Feros, the Mother and brother-in-law fighting over her babies future? Mostly concerning the one's that transfer over.

Of course they won't.  How could they?  The comic lasts all of ~15 minutes.

He's got short-sleeve armor too.

If they can die (Shiala, Rana) they'll probably be dead, side quests (Major Kyle, Nassana, Helena Blake) not done and anything optional like Rebekkah and Jacob, Chorban and the Keepers on the Citadel never happened. At least after viewing that comic that's how I see it.

Of course things can follow into it, because the devs could make the game save to it whenever they wanted to.  Like, after the credits.  It's the players who have no control over when that happens.

Is there a FemShep version of the comic (i.e. Jennifer Hale's voice)?

Find it odd that Feros isn't mentioned because I believe the colony is still referenced even in the default version of the 360/PC version of ME2. Also wondering if players will have to run through the comic when playing the PS3 version or if they can opt for a default run as well. Imagine the character creation woes if they couldn't skip the intro and the comic. :P

Yeah, Kaidan is 3 years older than Shepard and one rank below Shepard. But apparently he's a 'good kid'

Maybe. I'm not sure where, but I'm sure it'll turn up once ME2 PS3 is in the hands of resourceful PS3 users.

Speaking of Kaidan, anyone notice that the option to save Kaidan is misspelled as "Save Kaiden"?

I noticed that too. It also seems to push the player toward Liara as the LI choice.

Things are not looking up for VS fans, in particular Kaidan fans. Then again I'm not too surprised anymore tbh :?

Disappointed there's not an option to turn the good kid renegade? :P

I know the colony is referenced when you talk to Matriach Aethyta; in the default, non-import version (or if you failed to save the colony in ME1), Aethyta will mention the colony as having been destroyed. But if you played ME1 and saved the colony, she remarks that the Feros colony is "one of the few exceptions" as to how it ended up surviving.

Make no mistake; the comic, as good as it may be, does neglect so many decisions. It's essentially a skeleton version of ME1, if that makes any sense. No wonder BioWare said it was meant for players starting with ME2. Us ME1 people obviously can't appreciate it enough like this. Regardless, I thought it was a very good rundown of ME1 from a "newbie" perspective.

Not serious answer: The player should always have the option of changing Kaidan's mind about the fascist council.

Serious answer: Kaidan fans got effed in the A.

I'm probably in the minority but did any one else think Shepard came across as a massive douche bag?

In some sense, yes. Which is why I would love to hear the FemShep version now. But alas, I will hear it in my game when it comes out.

Of course, what does this mean for ME 1 decisions, or ME 1 in general,  in ME 3?

No. In fact, the whole thing definitely feels as if it was told from a pure paragon perspective (regardless of the fact that the choices taken during that "playthrough" of it were paragon).
