[Well, that's all well and good apart from the simple fact that the main thing you need when introducing someone to something new is detail, that's also paced correctly. Otherwise...all you will achieve is making said person who is new to the main material/story etc (in ME2) confused when they run into references/events that were left out of the preview/backstory.

My take on this is that Bioware thought they could achieve their main objective with the comic (as an introduction to ME) via the comic by using just the main points...however they seem to have kept what they've used to the bare bones which is very annoying in my opinion.

I was actually considering buying a PS3 to sit along side my 360 so I could experience the wonders of ME2 again on a new system, but if I do do this thank f**k I've played both ME1 and 2 several times on the 360 so I can breeze through this frankly lame excuse of an introduction to ME for PS3ers!

I don't see why people are so worked up about this. You already have Mass Effect 1 and PS3 gamers who haven't played it probably won't be as disappointed about the comic.

Be glad BioWare actually took the time to make an introduction to the series, they could've just dropped ME2 on PS3 without it.

^ Thank you. As for the rest of you, y'all are thinking too hard. Plus, you need to see that this is not a third-person omniscient narrative, its a first-person personal one... one told by someone who is dying, you know? Peace!

ME3 must not have comic like ME2.
Imagine them explaining ME2 in 15 minutes?

Thats easy:
You die and are brought back to life for no reason by a terrorist organisation that you hate. Collectors are abducting humans. You hire 12 random people to form a team and dont bother to buy a single explosive device for your mission. All your old friends have misteriously become deaf and dumb( oh yeah, Tali, Garrus, Wrex, Liara and Anderson are totally dumb and deaf). You attack the Collector base and destroy the terminator Human Reaper that looks like human metal skeleton that was made by putting humans into a slushee machine. Either give it to Cerberus or blow up the only evidance you ever found in the 3 years of fighting the Reapers.

Did I mention you also go onto a Reaper at one point? No? Thats because it was just a generic mission and had nothing important to do with the plot outside a convient plot device located onboard.

The End.

Some fixes. Also let's see what you forgot.

Cerberus thing, which romance, Legion sold or not, Legion loyalty, Tali loyalty, Mordin loyalty, Overlord, Samara or Morinth, Specter status...

I mean geez, talk about hypocrisy.

Hey, I was closer then the ME1 comic was.

I was only doing the important plot related stuff. Stupid stuff like radon team members loyalty had to take a back seat for the super important plot. Its not like choices have really meant anything up to this point anyway. Wrex, Liara, and Anderson all dont give you any help, so I dont understand what you are talking about.

And it wasnt 4 years? ME1 1 year + 2 years dead + ME2 1 year.

Legion's, Tali's and Mordin's loyalty's are very, VERY important.
And it was 3 years, if not less.
Check ME Wiki Timeline, Eden Prime attack was in 2183, Shepard wakes from coma in 2185.

Honestly, what is important about Legion's loyalty mission? The Heretics amount to an estimated 5% of the entire Geth population and you eliminate them in some capacity. What ramifications would this have?

Gee,  I don't know, maybe it had something to do with preventing a Reaper virus from being deployed against the other 95% of the geth population...who kinda owe you now.

The Geth already knew about that. They will take care of it if you dont help them. They have fleets they can send in to blow the base up, they just lose the element of surprise and have an actual battle instead of a sneak attack.

FemShep version. It still sucks, just in a different register:

There is a dialogue difference: instead of just enslaving rachni in general, as in the MShep version, it's said that Saren specifically enslaved the queen. FemShep still romances Liara (and it was still perfect), but she kills the queen, Wrex, nukes Ash, ditches the council, and picks Udina. BTW, Kaidan's name is spelled right both times it appears in this version, but apparently, the Salarians magically teleport to the bomb site if you go there. Not that a newcomer would have any clue who that weird alien guy's supposed to be anyway. Also, LOL@ Ash's memorial photo.

The voice acting is good, but everything else is still terrible. The artwork is bad, some of the things that Shepard has to say are awful, they don't get the facts of their own story right.

So question for bioware.

Do you go out of your way to ****** off Ash and Kaidan fans or has it just become second nature after doing it for so long ?

The art is fine.

But it's important to know the background story of your own product, yes?

Now that i actually get a second look at it,its not to bad.I guess thats partly thanks to Hales voice.I mean Meer acting was never troubled me,but here it really sucked. This and it was the first side by side comparison of the two for me,and she definitely outguns him on every level, making even some of the ****ty dialog seem good.

That said, expecting nothing, its not too bad.It made me sick this Morning, when i had huge expectations,of the Therum encounter,Feros battle vs Thorium, and actual presentation of emotional conflict. But for a short retrospective,it aint horrible.

Dont understand, why must they always settle for bare minimums.Lately it seems committed fan-work eclipse that of actual developers.Sure its free, but they still had an obligation to present their intellectual property to the best of their ability.Anytime a consumer says i could do better, its a failing on their part to sell themselves properly. They lose customers and reputation. And back in the day,i used to buy new IP solely on rep.Heck thats why i bought ME1 and 360 for that matter(im a PC gamer) in the winter of 2007,so i could experiences Biowares next Si-Fi epic.

Nowadays im not sure i can trust them with their own IP,first rumors of Delay, then Multi-player restructuring, then more streamlining, then a short dev time-table,of only 2 years, and now this mediocre work on a 15 min comic. How could ME3 possibly succeed in eclipsing ME1+ME2,when they cant even keep the plot straight."So many retcons".

My worst fear a 12 hour campaign and final battle death-match.Ughhhh.Please put me out of my misery, post some info, launch a site,something...:crying:

Much as I despise being redundant, after reading through this thread, the above is my only takeaway point.

A Virmire Survivor DLC would make up for it somewhat. But only if it's well written. In other words, don't let the guy who wrote this terrible comic anywhere near it.
