Uhhh... I'd really... really hate to play devil's advocate right now, but my brain is demanding that I point out that the artist probably only drew one version of that panel, and Kaidan and/or Ashley not being there is most likely due to editing done to remove a character from the panel with a minimum of work.

At least, that's what I'd do in a similar situation.

But the one with Ashley is different from the one with both of them. Ashley is sitting in one picture and standing in the other. I mean you can't even see Ashley's face. She might as well just be a stick figure in pink armor in the background. They don't even reward you with a close up picture for picking Ashley. It's like the comic is saying "Err, wrong answer. Hello? Blue alien! Pick the blue alien!!"

I mean I love Liara, but the favoritism is pretty obvious here.

Yes, but Bioware didn't draw the comic. The artist from Darkhorse did. And an artist draws what he feels will work the best, especially in a comic format. Often times shortcuts are taken, and I have a hunch this was one of those times. I'm not saying I like it.

I mean they almost have to right? With all the bones thrown to fan service for other characters it would be...just plain mean for them not to do something awesome for Ash and Kaidan....right?

But why does Liara get the close up shot in both panels? And how easy would it be in the left panel to put Kaidan or Ashley beside Liara. And as an artist I feel it is my natural right to call that epic laziness if that's what they did. I mean this comic wasn't put together overnight. That and the lines about the mind meld being "not at all unpleasant," gives me a sense that they were pushing the Liara romance.

Ash's panel in this reminds me of the movie A League of Their Own where they keep showing all the very flattering, attractive close ups of the ladies playing baseball and then they get to Marla Hooch and show this and all they have to say about the poor girl is "what a hitter."

No offense meant to you.  I can see the allure of saving time, but ME1 is just an awesome game.  It also takes less than 9 hours if it's rushed through and you don't talk to anybody.  Play it on casual too.

If you rush it threw, which I am not one to do, and I had assumed it was going to be something they would mostlikely add as part of the Cerberus Network, not a Pay DLC.

I am just one those people who hates feeling trapped by creating a new blank Shepard with a world that I have no control over the worlds path, and instead of feeling like if want any say I need to play ME1 and rush threw it if I'd like to play a world different then I have already played. Plus with some the Bugs of ME1 that Bioware still has yet to fix it gets annoying having to play threw again and again(like grenades going threw walls and floors).

Sucks for PS3 users... unless they play ME1, they can't discover or become emotionally invested in the rich characters of ME1... they won't experience how innocent and naive Liara is, Ash's past and how she became to be so tough, Kaiden's rough history as a biotic, Wrex's life as a merc and how he feels about his Krogan family, Garrus' life and interacting and shaping his morality, Tali's pilgrimage and the Quarian/Geth history, the heretic Geth, Joker's life as a cripple and how he strove to overcome odds, Anderson's history with Saren and his feud with Udina and the council, Sovereign and his awesome voice, Admiral Hacket and his awesome voice, NIHLUS.

Because of this, PS3 users won't feel that same awe/amazement/nostalgia when being reintroduced to Garrus, Tali, Liara, VS, Wrex, Anderson, statue of Saren, and even the mention of Nihlus by Samara and those stupid emails. ME2 will be a watered down experience without having played ME1.

Do yourselves a favor PS3 users and play ME1 on the PC or 360, to at least experience it and become properly invested in the universe, then switch to PS3 and make those comic choices.

Wow. They dumbed things down for the PS3 users, it's "basicly" ME1 in a nut shell. Should it bother me that I've explained Mass Effect to my friends and people unfamilier with the series alot better than this comic was suposed to?



It wasn't bad... it just could have been better.
