It's like they made the comic to replace Me1 completely, so it would mash better with Me2 story (or lack of ,depending)

ME2 had a story?

:P

Though seriously

Not mentioning the Geth = Fail
Ashley and Kaidan being treated like wallflowers = fail
Liara acting like a blushing prom queen = fail
Garrus and Tali dual wielding = fail
"Good kid" = epic fail
Dude Shep and FemShep having the exact script when it came to descriping the LIs = epic fail
The comic as a whole = fail
The Rachni Queen's "drones" = bull**** and a fail
Udina's dickery not being shown = fail
The art = epic fail
Not knowing WTF a Spectre is important = fail
Not knowing Saren and Anderson's history = fail
Mass Relays into dark space = fail

I can just see the meeting:

Casey Hudson (because I blame him for most things, even if he isn't at fault for some of them):  "Okay so you know how everyone hates that ME2 was a pale comparison to ME1 in terms of story because we lost our focus and decided to try to be like every other game instead of doing what we do best?"

Everyone else: "Yes."

Casey:  "Well this comic is the perfect opportunity to say to the fans 'no no, look!  Remember? ME1 was just as poorly written as ME2!'"

Random Guy: "Um....how will that help?"

Casey: "It will prove we're consistent! If we can fool people into believing the quality of our work has never dropped off but remained at a steady mediocre even line then fans can't be disappointed in the next thing created that ends up being only average.  AVERAGE is the new AWESOME guys!"

Everyone else:  *applause*

Casey:  "Great.  Send out the memo to the writers and someone get me a tighter t-shirt on the double."

My poor little brain is trying to work out how Ash/Kaidan fans pointing out that to all intents and purposes Liara is female is some sort deal breaker for a united front.
Would I romance Liara over Kaidan? Never...........
Would I swap any number of ME2 team mates with Liara, yes I would............................
I like her. :)

I. Like. Her. :D

Her..........................

Not all the wishing in the world, however is going to make breasts more sexy to me than a man basket. Not even with the magic fairy dust BioWare are sprinkling over the ''Pick me'', comic.
Quite simply, I fancy men, not just that, but men who have everything men should have (and if the Asari have *that* too then they are not a monogender race they are hermaphrodites)
What is it about heterosexual men that makes it so hard to understand that hetero women and gay men are interested in that certain something that women don't have. Don't question it, be glad of it for the love of Pete ;)

I fail to see the connection between BioWare taking the lazy way out and making the Male and Fem version of this comic focus on Liara and BioWare trying to force lesbiansim on the players.

^all that. it's like Bioware is punihsing us for not picking the blue alien they've selected for us.

Ashley was the "postergirl" of the first game and the "cannon" romance(like Miranda is now). Not Liara. She is not even on the game cover.
She wasnt in any gameplay demo prior to game release.

I don't care about the lesbianism but the blantant favoritism is tiresome. And really it wasn't necessary. And yes it was a bit irritating feeling like I was making the wrong choice because I didn't choose the "as beautiful as she was intelligent." Liara over the "good kid" Kaidan.

And really Shep's dialogue should've been a little more neutral because lo and behold not everyone is going to want an LI. And the mindmeld being described as pleasurable was also unnecessary. In ME1 Shep seemed to have no reaction to it pleasure or otherwise.

Whatever I can fire up ME1 and not deal with it but I feel bad for PS3 players having that abomination forced on them.

Edit: It's possible for people to change poster childs. They usually do when one is killable/another character becomes more popular.

I don't think it has anything to do with "lesbianism."  It's just favoritism.  I mean I think those are two completely separate discussions.

Yeah what was up with that?  In the game Shepard mostly just looks confused and unphased.  They definitely equate it with brain sex or joining in the comic and that's a) inaccurate and misleading and B) BLATANTLY TELLING YOU TO PICK THE HOT BLUE CHICK WHO CAN F*CK YOU WITH HER MIND.

Huh? This comix isn't focused on anything, it's just Shepard's nightmare.

That isn't what concerns me actually, it is that several male gamers are having real difficulty understanding why, to a woman, Liara is too female looking to be considered as a LI. And that Liara (as lovely as she is) is being pushed on the player as canon now........ I have mentioned elsewhere that other than Kaidan (and Ash tbh) Liara is usually my third team mate. She and Kaidan, when levelled up by the player absolutely slay Saren :) and I seldom use anyone else (unless I am playing adept and require some combat skill in the mix) :)

It just appears that there's a lot of 'ire' thrown out at the FemShep version having a 'fixation' on Liara while I don't see this as quite strong with he Male version.

I'm sorry but the last bit.

Seriously though that bit of artisitic liberty was not needed nor desired (by me at least).

And really the fact that picking Liara has her in the forefront of the next pic while Ash/Kaidan are in the background where you can barely see them is rage inducing.

And yes I felt like they pretty much described the Vs "oh here's X he's a good kid/good soldier but look at the blue chick! She's much more interesting! You Shepard can't help but admire her looks and intelligence! You Shep can't help but be pleasured by the mind meld! She's perfect for you!!!!"

Gag me with a ****ing spoon.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that Liara can't die. Which makes her a more convenient LI for BioWare to saddle PS3 players with? Less messiness. Idk.

Sigh. I wonder what L'Etoile would think about all this. And after he wrote that Ashmance so well...

I think it's possible that it's just Liara's plot armor doing its thing again.

But, if you're like a straight gal playing PS3, you are not picking Liara even if she's thrown in your face in the manner described here:

You will pick the dude regardless, or say none.  Then you get your pick of THREE DUDES in ME2.

My focus is Ash and Kaidan being pushed to the background if they are even allowed by bioware to be mentioned. Because most of the time they are ignored. Tired of the BS.

I quote me,

LiamN7 wrote...

So question for bioware.

Do you go out of your way to ****** off Ash and Kaidan fans or has it just become second nature after doing it for so long ?

Which is totally not the point.

Plus I DON'T WANT ANY OF THOSE 3 DUDES!

<_<

And the guy I do wantis reduced to a lame 5 minute came that has him yelling at me while my Shep just stands there with little emotion on their face.

That does not stop the dialogue from being needlessly suggestive. I'd feel the same way about Kaidan if FemShep spoke about his attractiveness and intelligence.

How so? Hale has exactly the same lines and sounds just as suggestive at certain parts of the comic as Meer.

Exactly...and it seems some don't like that, as it 'caters to straight dudes and lesbians' or something... unless I'm mis-interpreting posts in this thread.
