No. In fact, the whole thing definitely feels as if it was told from a pure paragon perspective (regardless of the fact that the choices taken during that "playthrough" of it were paragon).

I'm just a little sad that the comic had to be put out to Dark Horse to do. I'd have preferred the Mass Effect concept art team to work on it instead. Not just because I know they'll do a better job in the art department, but they're the ones most familiar with the visual material and the characters.



Case in point? I've never seen Garrus shoot husks with dual pistols. Ever.

No, it's still Kaidan, but because the comic is done from Shepard's POV, it's written as "Kaiden" because Shepard can't spell.

Here in Toronto we have a subway stop named "Sheppard" station. All it needs is a Mass Effect cosplay photoshoot.

One thing I thought was funny: the first time they show Sovereign above Eden Prime, it looks like a tiny little tick with some red lightning around it, which doesn't quite work with the narration.

Because Shepard has a delusional memory, Sovereign is the size of a tick and sounds like a chipmunk rather than pure subwoofer.

Shepard's a cougar who refers to young Alliance marines as, "kids."

Maybe Kaiden is a younger version of Kaidan in an alternate universe?

Kaiden is a 'good kid' with a good heart that is a young man headed up the ranks. He certainly isn't older than Shepard and he certainly isn't one rank below Shepard. Kaiden's alternate reality form is named "Richard L. Jenkins".

....This comic got me depressed. It could possibly mean all the small choices, yet fun choices, we made in ME1 got the boot.



I hope Dr. Michel returns in ME3.

Or that. Hell, even a bunch of text accompanied with those in-game shots would have worked. No audio needed.

I agree with axl99 that BioWare's own concept art team could have done a good job here. The only thing Dark Horse brings to the table is the ability to say it was done by a comic book studio. And, ah, I'll just leave it at that before I get ranty.

Oh snap, it's Shepard's delusional memory again, melding Kaidan with Jenkins and giving us Kaiden, the good kid who was the only other marine with Shepard on Eden Prime that day until they met up with Ashley.

I originally expected the comic to be a bunch of pictures with text, actually. Basically like the DA:O epilogue that recaps the aftermath of the Blight.
