Having seen both versions now (and being unbelievably miffed that FemShep in particular calls Kaidan "a good kid"), something else now stands out for me. The comic presents the choice between Ashley/Kaidan and Liara in a similar manner to the confrontation you get when you try to pursue two LIs at the same time. My Shepard would never do that. She would always be honest with both parties. She has never been so cruel as to keep Liara hanging when she's chosen Kaidan. Thus, she has never gotten that confrontation. Yet every PS3 player now gets it - every PS3 Shepard strung along two LIs. Seriously, this is wrong.

As a minor point, the conference room in which that scene takes places is from the SR2, not the SR1. Art continuity fail...

The comic fails in its job, it fails in the art , and the comic fails to show Ash or Kaidan properly. Bioware fails because because of this and they also took Ash and Kaidan out of the intro to me2 . I don't care what the reason is , it is BS.  Bioware also fails to notice that we exist.

I quote me,

So question for bioware.

Do you go out of your way to ****** off Ash and Kaidan fans or has it just become second nature after doing it for so long ?

Indeed, my Shepard would never do that iver, he/she would always just pursue one LI.

Tbh, I really like the ME1 conference room more than the ME2 one, let the team sit down Bioware! I really dislike Dark horse, never was a comic fan, but the ME comics suck.

Yeah I dont understand this, Ash and Kaidan are Alliance, Liara isn't. It makes more sense for the VS to be there! Especially if they pick to romance Ash or Kaidan.

That's a good point....so stupid.

I avoid the confrontation too as it's not suitable for my Shepard to string two people along....all PS3 players are heartbreakers now it seems.

Wait, Liara is the only choice for the intro in the PS3 version?

Yep.  Truthfully, it would have made more sense for Engineer Adams to meet you at the escape pods than Liara!

You'd think Cerberus would've thrown in a few chairs for the conference room. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with the security guard and the chair ^_^

Though I want to strangle TIM for not having an automatic fish feeder installed :pinched:

Assuming BioWare does respond to this in any way, I'm sure they're crafting the perfect PR statement that apologizes for nothing, says nothing but promises big "emotionally engaging" things in the future.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, A MAGICIAN NAMED CASEY HUDSON!"

(Pre-mass effect 2)

ME2 Writer: Wow they really didn't like Ashley and Kaiden compared to the rest of the crew. We should probaly make Liara's and Wrex's parts bigger since they have a larger fanbase

(Post ME2 pre-Genisis)

Genisis Writer: The fans seemed more inclined to Liara, plus Ashley and Kaiden only appear once in the ME2 and no one really cared.....just make Liara a the main LI in the comic since she's in the game more

(Post Genisis)

ME3 Writer: Okay........now Ashley and Kadian are the most popular characters and no one likes Liara anymore..........So let's make Liaras part small and Kaiden/Ashleys parts enourmous that'll make them happy

(Post ME3)

Writer: WTF? They hate how small Liara's part was and they remembered how much they hate Ash and Kaiden? F*ck it, the series is over. I'm not dealing with this anymore.

Really though, it doesn't affect anyone but PS3 users. As bad as it sounds, It's only their story that gets ****ed.

thankfully.

This is a late respons - I know. But didn't you hear? Genesis is most likely coming out for x360 and maybee for the PC. Genesis is what developers / publishers / whoever decides those things decided to use as a substitute to ME1. Genesis affects ME3 for everyone, not only PS3 players. Genesis is the only truth from now on.

A better thing to complain about would be that Kaidan/Ashley were ME1 leads. They had a bigger word budget for ME1, Their romances were better than Liara's.

so basically this comic makes the real Mass effect game pointless. As you get to make the decisions that skip through the game. sigh.

the comic is disapointing I have played the pc version, and it stinks that there isnt a full paragon/renegade choice within the comic. All the little choices that happened in mass effect 1 are not present. So its lame that you werent able to save combs, convince helen blake to stop doing crime, and save the salarian team. I am not very far in the ps3 version, but these are just a few of propably many choices that wont be able to be made. ME1 blows the comic out of the water, even if I hated planetary exploration. Also a weird bug i am playing as a male shepard choose ash for romance, let kaiden, and now there is a picture of kaiden on the desk rather then the romanced character.

Yes. Apparently this also happens if you romance Liara.  Further proof that no one seems to actually be testing the products before they go out. Again....well done, Bioware.

it's because those are mostly pointless filler missions. Helena Blake has 2 lines of dialogue in ME2, does it honestly even matter?

It was just an example out of how much you dont get choose. It doesnt even explain anything about the thorian and exogene(spelt that wrong i know) and that was a major part of the story. I am not saying it sucks that blake isnt in the game, I am just saying would have been nice if they would of put a little more into the comic itself is all.

If this is true, the main purpose of the trilogy, carrying over your story, your choices, through >3< games has
miserably failed. But we all knew it was an ambitious project...
If Shiala, Rana, Conrad and all the minor characters we love/hate, which have contribuited to create the mass universe as we know it, will not be present in ME3 PC/360 version, this would be the ultimate let down for the series.
