How long do my fell mass effect fans think mass effect 3 should be?

I think it should be atleast 25 hours, and best case scenario 35 hours. I know that seems long, but I think will everything that will likely happen in the game, the extra time will just make it better. Though obviously, the game could feel patted, or go on to long for some people's tastes, but I think bioware could pull it off.

Well if you did all the fraking collection quests with the Mako and spend hours managing the crappy inventory in ME1, it was the same length as ME2 (35 hours).

So, IMO it should be the same length as ME2 and not have crappy time filling activities like ME1

Long, like really long. As long as both of the first games combined with their dlc respectively then plus combining the side quests and character dialouge and then multiply by two.

I think that the main quest should be about 20-25 hours...but if you do all the side quests and bonus missions and future DLC then I think the runtime for the whole game should be 50-60 hours. This would keep casual players happy while offering the more fanatic players a chance to explore more of the rich universe bioware has created.

Really off topic but I hope jack has some hair in ME3...even if its a mohawk, something...I wonder what color it would be.

ME3 should be as long as it needs to be to end the story.

People should stop worrying about petty numbers and think about the actual content itself.

As epic as possible. It needs to be awesome. I don't care how long it is, as long as it leaves me thunderstruck for at least 5 minutes after it ends.

I say 3 discs long....
ME1= 1 Disc
ME2= 2 Discs
ME3= 3 Discs

That's my logic and I'm stickin to it Image IPB

For me ME1 was 42 hrs long, ME2 (without dlc) was 47. Expect ME3 to be in that area.

I'd like for it to be as long as the main campaign of ME1 was, if possibly longer, rather than the minimally few hours that the main campaign of ME2 was.

I think you're mixed up.

ME1 main missionline = 10 hours
ME2 main missionline = 30 hours

ME1 had much, much more side content, though.

ME1 had much longer content sounds more correct. After all, there were only some 3 types of buildings to fight in and and lots of randomly generated barren terrain.

You seem to be mistaking the daddy issue sidequests with the main mission. In terms of the main mission (land on colony, recruite Mordin, land on second colony, the collector ship, the collector base), the duration of the main game is terribly lacking compared to the extensive, lengthy procedures of what happens in ME1's main mission (Eden Prime, Citadel, land on first planet, make way across first planet, finish first planet, land on second planet, make way across second planet, finish second planet, Virmire, Feros, Citadel again).

The recruitment missions that you have to do in ME2 in order to unlock other parts of the main campaign is just filler that they force you to play rather than make it optional. Just like the loyalty missions are filler that has no real bearing on the final mission outside of punishing you if you didn't do it.

~30 hours as long as it has the same level of quality in regards to storytelling, visuals (though the graphics would be obviously better if they're using a new engine) and combat as ME2.

I am expecting it to be short, and by short I mean about 20 hours long for the average run. However, I expect to be glued to the screen, grinding my teeth, and praying for a happy ending the whole time I'm pew-pewing away. One of those things that's so crazy you skip sleep and meals so you can beat it in one day, then spend the rest of the week recovering from the sheer awesomeness.

Of course, if they can keep up the intensity for 40+ hours, I say go for it.

I would like ME3 be as long as possible, so at least 30+ hours.

Jack's a ginger, it's written all over her!  Image IPB

And 30 - 35 hours (without including DLC)  would be good.

Is 25 hours considered long nowadays?

Forever lol.

But really it needs to be as long as needed to give the full feeling to the end of Shepards story.
