So, forgive me if this is already discussed elsewhere (I couldn't find it) and I'm the new guy (so don't hex me or anything). This is all completely speculative and just for entertaining the brain. Say what you think but take none as canon, obviously. And will probably be considered as '''SPOILERS''' for you who haven't played the DLC.
If you haven't played the DLC, you might want to consider leaving as this may contain '''SPOILERS'''
Ok you had fair warning.
I was reading up on Idea's about where the Eluvian takes Morrigan, The nature of Flemeth, as well as the Old God Baby. Now I had read someone's idea that Flemeth could in fact be an Old God herself. I thought that would make sense since when she is killed she supposedly always finds a new host to inhabit for herself. So I thought, why would Flemeth be raising daughters to "inhabit"? Which lead to the idea that, maybe, that is how Flemeth controls where she ends up. Morrigan eludes to the idea that Flemeth was never searching for immortality in the DLC, So maybe she inhabits her daughters to ensure power and Intelligence rather than transfer to a foreign host, one she doesn't know how to control (i.e. Darkspawn, animals, etc.). Maybe she was making a sort of "groundhog day" effect where she would be gaining lifetimes of power and experience for herself preparing for something. The only idea that might thwart this theory is that the warden can "kill" Flemeth for Morrigan during the game, but I would think that could pass as an understandable oversight.
This brought me to the OGB, in the Witch Hunt DLC, Morrigan confirms the child exists. Morrigan is using the Eluvian to travel somewhere. I was vexed about if it led to the Black City or perhaps Elvhenan the origin of the Dalish that was lost. Anyways, I started putting pieces together, and I wondered about what Flemeth's goal for Morrigan's child with the Warden. And I think it may have clicked. What if Flemeth (assuming she is an Old God) was trying to reunite the Old God's for revenge on the Maker? We all know how Morrigan became hostile in reference to the Maker. We know the Maker cast the Old God's down. We know from the Witch Hunt DLC that Flemeth planned for Morrigan to bare the Wardens child all along (Also it is probable that Morrigan is following in her mothers footsteps since she is gleaming this knowledge from Flemeth's Grimoire). Maybe, those were the first steps that Flemeth was taking to bring the Old God's together for an assault on the Maker. The Eluvian might lead to The Black City where further knowledge could be of the Maker or where he cast the other Old God's. I do not know. It would definitely account for the "coming changes" that Morrigan speaks of in the DLC. Imagine siding with the Old God's or the Maker. Neither necessarily being a wrong choice, but either choice definitely changing your relations with others. Idea's, Additions, Support, Rebuttals? Even if you deem it not likely for the DA Universe you have to admit that this idea would make for an EPIC STORY.
Future Dragon Age Storyline Idea.
