I downloaded Pinnacle Station for Mass Effect and I just noticed it's not in my game after the installation. It is, according to my registry, installed but it isn't showing up in Argos Rho, Pheonix.

I downloaded it through the EA Download Manager, and it also says the game is installed. I select the "Play" option and it launches Mass Effect just fine. In game however, it doesn't show up.

Currently I do have Bring Down the Sky installed and I have completed the content. I've searched around and seen known bugs regarding Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station downloads interfering with one another, but from what I've read it's all for the Xbox.

Here is my system configuration:
  • Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.33GHz
  • Memory: 4096MB Ram
  • Direct X: 11
  • Display: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series; 2808MB Memory; 8/4/2010 Drivers
Not quite sure what to do at this point. I will most likely try re-installing all the content but I'd like to know if there is a less time consuming way to fix this before doing so.

Thanks

Open the game, go to Options -> Downloadable Content. If PS is not listed there, all you can do is reinstall [the whole game].

I've began the process of installing from scratch. I'll try installing Pinnacle Station first and then applying the Bring Down the Sky patch after. Hopefully that will solve it.

If not, it's going to be a fun morning.

I'm going to run through the process on how I'm doing this:
  • Installing Mass Effect 1 through an ISO file I created from my original disc
  • Downloading & Installing Mass Effect Pinnacle Station content through EA Download Manager
  • Installing Bring Down the Sky content using the executable file downloaded from the site
I've also tried swapping steps 3. and 2. and I've ran the EA Downloader as Administrator. I've also just tried installing Pinnacle Station alone with Mass Effect, and that doesn't seem to show up either.

I'd like to note, that downloading and installing the Pinnacle Station patch also applies the 1.02 patch as well.

Nothing is showing up still. I will even try putting in the actual CD but I don't see how that would assist me any, as the first install I did was with the disc.

No Results

I'm not sure what else I can do.

Please Help!

Did you install Pinnacle Station through the EA download manager? I got this DLC to install correctly but, I copied the file from the Download Manager's cache folder under Program Data and installed it manually. Also, did you make sure to install the 1.02 patch before installing both DLC's?

Yes, I did download and install it through the EA Download Manager. I will try going through the cache file and installing it manually.

I tried just installing Pinnacle, since it does come with 1.02 patch file. I also tried installing 1.02 manually then installing both the content files afterward while still getting the same result.

I will try your method.

~Thanks

I've uninstalled Mass Effect again and have done the following:
  • Installed Mass Effect off the original CD
  • Ran Patch 1.02 as Administrator and installed successfully
  • Ran Bring Down the Sky as Administrator and installed successfully
  • Ran the EA Download Manager as Administrator and downloaded Pinnacle Station
It is now prompting me to install through the download manager so it's on my computer somewhere, my problem is I'm not sure where to find it. I've gone to the Program Files(x86)/Electronic Arts/EADM folder and looked through each file there for some kind of executable file related to Mass Effect but found nothing.

Where should I be looking?

Addendum

I'd like to note that when I do install it through the EA Download Manager it tells me everything installed successfully. I also recieve a new folder in my Program Files(x86)/Mass Effect/DLC folder called Vegas. Though when I launch the game, the content doesn't show up in game or in the Options > Downloaded Content sections. All I see there is Bring Down the Sky.

Alright, I've resolved the issue.

Unfortunatly it wasn't the best way to solve it however, because this may not help anyone with a similar issue.

Apparently the problem was within the My Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect folder. The specific folder is unknown, but I basically just copied my wife's folder as shown by the directory and implemented in mine.

Pinnacle Station is now active.

For future reference, so you can back up your downloads and remove them from your HD -

EA Download Manager put the file here:

C:\\ProgramData\\Electronic Arts\\EADM\\cache\\{ Your_Account_Email }\\mass_effect_ps_dd

I suspect it works for all EA digital purchases downloaded to our Win7 64bit PCs.

The { Your_Account_Email } will be whatever email you used for that purchase.

Out of curiosity, do you have multiple Users created on your system? I just double clicked on the file without choosing to Run as Administrator. Same with the patches and BDtS..

Yea, the curious thing is my wife and I have the same computer. I custom built both of them exactly the same, and I keep them both updated regularly. Her's worked fine, mine didn't. So I just took her files. I'm the only one who uses this computer, as she is for her's as well. The reason behind why it didn't work confuses the hell out of me. At least it works now though.
