360 and PC gamers must unite together send these damn PS3 back into Dark Space.

I kid. All I'm hoping for is that the discussions stay civil and every not look down on the PS3 players because they will never know about the awesomeness that is CONRAD VERNER!

Conrad's the least of my worries, canon-wise, honestly.

Just ignore the stupid comic for the PS3 gamers.  We got ME1Posted Image

Everyone would gladly toss it out of the nearest airlock...the problem is that this comic and not ME1 stands now as a base for ME3.

Exactly, and that is extremely worrying. They have re-written the story.

I mean the PS3 players miss out on so much. Why would BW include all the things like Conrad Verner, Shiala, Fist, Emily wong, the colonists on Feros etc. in ME3, if the PS3 players don't get it?

It's pretty much written in stone that this **** has been taken out of the picture. I'm ****ing pissed.

They already had Conard, Shiala, Fist and others return even though they knew a lot people didn't play ME1 and so wouldn't get them.

Not many people will even buy ME2 for PS3 with it being a year later port anyway.

You really think they'd ****** off 2/3 of their market in order to placate the remaining 3rd? That doesn't make any sense.

You are suggesting that they would make 2 separate version of ME3 then?

By that logic they already make X versions of ME 2 by virtue of the content people miss out on if they had no ME 2 import when playing it. ME 3 should be no different. IF you played ME 1 your choices will reflected, if you got the comic those choices will be reflected, if you didn't play either then whatever BioWare makes the default choices will be reflected.

Seems like mountain out of a mole hill stuff to me.

What about the remaining 1/3? Would the significant amount of content seriously be left out in the PS3 version? Why would they make one version significantly superior to the other? It would seriously hurt their PS3 sales, which was obviously the whole point of the port to PS3.

A hole has been dug, and the only way out of said hole is by pissing of one of their fanbases. They can't possibly please both. But perhaps a Bioware miracle can be performed, not all my faith has been lost, just a ****ing massive chunk.

The problem stands still... they not only omitted sidequests (which is understandable) but left out parts of the main plot either so they won't have any impact on ME3...

To be honest I don't think Bioware will care that much. I mean they will probably make ME 3 the way they want to and if some players can't understand what's going on... too bad. Shiala, Conrad will either NOT be making  an appearence in Mass Effect 3 or PS3 players will be left in the dark

To be fair, all PS3 playthroughs will be like the default playthroughs on other systems which is sad.

They will do exactly what they did with ME 2. IF you've got the saves for the extra content good for you, if not tough ****. I really don't see how one could reach any conclusion other than that one.

Believe it or not the save transfer system doesn't make or break Mass Effect. There's still PLENTY of game with the default options so it's not as if PS3 players would be getting only half a game. Hell with the amount of complaining people have done about how most of those decisions are handled (small cameos, emails, etc) you'd figure they have practically no impact whatsoever.

And I completely forgot that certain plot points are ignored but I don't think it will matter.

Do you realize that this is part of critics that many people even reviewers were hoping to change in ME3 as they had only minor to none impact (emails ect.) in ME2? Now you're presenting it as ME3 will be the same in this facet...

The problem here is that the PS3 market have no option of playing ME1. The 360/PC market did, and deserved a "tough ****" for not playing the first. The PS3 players don't have that liberty.

And if you think that the import utility is not an important feature, thats cool, thats your opinion. But to me, it is one of the reasons i play Mass Effect. For the carry over decisions and the fact that your character's choices effect the entirety of Mass Effect. It's role-playing at it's best.

It's not that I don't think it's important, it's that I don't think it's so important that PS3 players would be in any way slighted by missing out on how some of their ME 1 decisions my appear in ME 3. They will still have their ME 2 decisions, and the default content still makes up the VAST majority of the game. They aren't missing out on all that much which is precisely why I don't think it will have much bearing on how ME 3 will be produced.

Perhaps somebody (not I, I'm afraid) feels helpful enough to sacrifice some time to compile a nice FAQ in a new thread, for the flood of newcomers, to satisfy what might otherwise become the n'th repetition of many questions and theories... :7

Oh Garrus? Well he's Max Payne and wants to avenge the death of his family at the hands of The Illusive Man

Eh, I expect massive console wars, the community isn't that nice. Hope you guys don't have to convert to lurkism in order to survive.

@Gibb
It wasn't decided which recurring characters will return since very recently, so I wouldn't worry about that.

I love how even when something Mass Effect related is crap, Garrus emerges unscathed like the unstoppable badass he is. The comic calls him THE TOP CITADEL SECURITY INVESTIGATOR and then he does the Max Payne thing.

Pretty sure noobs wouldn't be investigating a colony attack with the top Spectre as a suspect.

EDIT: No matter how silly the PS3 ME comic is, Garrus is still badass.

Oh nooooooooo! The last thing I want to see as a Pc gamer is 360 ans ps3 players being noobs with like 30 threads on which version is better. This will ruin these otherwise quite good forums, so aaaaaaaaahhh, I hate console players at each others throats, so plz just no. Posted Image
