I don't know what RaduM wrote to upset you War, and it really holds no relevance here since his point is valid. If you make a claim, it is up to you to back it up with fact and proof otherwise there's no point in making such a claim since you can't really defend it. Judging by the way you're avoiding this, you have no proof, and are basically stating an opinion, not a fact.

And I have already done so, this guy is just harrasing me on purpose.

So where is this proof then? A word for word transcript would be proof. A video would be proof. Saying "you can't be friendly without being shoehorned into a romance" is not proof, it's a statement which should be backed up by proof.

Read the thread and you would know why the neither option doesn't really work. Here better yet read this.

The comic clearly depicts shepard as a heterosexaul horn dog drooling over the Asari, his reaction should have been neutral. Or be single was no real option because if you actaully played the game you would know to get at that point you would have had to be romancing both of them, which would clearly depict shepard being heterosexual, it should have been neutral. Therefore shepard would have been interested in them, and by saying the mission is too important just meant that the mission was too important...but when its over then we can talk.

Well both sides are correct. Why ? You can always ignore romance by using renegade dialogue when the game tries to force it upon a player. That is my statement

What if Shepard just doesn't want to hurt their feelings or (the worst case scenario) stop them from leaving the squad or betraying ? Some people are capable of anything if they love another person.

Fine I'll make a thread with all of the proof in the whole world if you must be so demanding about it jeez, people really need to replay the first game again.

in the same sense as Male Shep how come there are no black women to romance? why? isn't that racist?
Can't have everything, there is only so much they could add

as for the people who said "oh its ok for fem shep to romance liara F/F is ok!" well thats not true technically since asari have no such thing as males, then they can't be females, so its more xeno

Yes, foul could be called if Ashley was a possible LI for Female Shepard but not Kaidan for Male Shepard. Liara is indeed a xeno-sexual relationship. Even though, let's be honest, lesbianism is what's everybody thinking.

@ Original Poster : Much appreciated, your new thread initiative.

You keep referring to them being depicted as raging hetrosexuals... yes... because that's how they are. Why is fem or male shep hetro? why are miranda, tali, jacob, garrus, ash, kaiden, jack, thane allll hetro?
Thats just the way the writers wanted to depict them. Stop complaining about it.
You've quoted yourself over and over, you seem to be pissed more at the fact that he is depicted as a 'heterosexaul horn dog drooling over the Asari' than the fact that there is no option to romance a guy as male shep.
and you know that line is quite sexist in itself... he is hetro... and into liara, so he must be a horn dog that drools eh?

And why should I be forced to choose the neutral option in the first place? why can't I play the game without being led into a relationship when all I'm doing is just trying to get my sqaud mates? its bogus. Thats how it forces the player. It forces you to make a choice you shouldn't have to make. If you want to romance them then the game should give clear options, which it honestly doesn't

Why are you lead that way? it's not a free-roam RPG mate, it's a story driven game. Why does the game lead me to this mission or that mission, why can't I just skip going to the collector's and go work as a bartender at the citadel, why do I have to be the one to save the galaxy again??????!!!!!! .... really now, you are just being childish.

Actually you are wrong, because the way Shepard behaves is up to the player. Not you, not the Devs. The reason I say he is a Horndog is because of the horrible dialogue that they give him.

wrong again, it is not up to the player, it is up to the devs and writers. They give us options and we CHOOSE from those options. It is up to you to PICK from those options given and nothing more, the bits with no dialogue is where you let your imagination do the rest. If it were up to me, I would have punched the council members several times in ME1... couldn't do it...

Because the neutral option is ... neutral? I mean, I'd half understand the frustration if you were out to get all Paragon points in the game and romance inconveniences you, I could probably understand, but not agree with that.

I mean, even if, at some point, you would go something like " I want you to be happy" and Shepard says it that way , you can always reload if you feel you really, really misinterpreted the tone of the reply. But generally, I didn't feel the dialogue tree misleads people, you would have a revolution on the forums if there were such problems. The short paraphrases in each entry are representative of what Shepard says.

If you want confusion, look at Alpha Protocol, dialogue choices were quite obscure, combined with the fact that you had like 5 seconds to reply, misunderstandings tended to pop up a lot.

You're wrong and right at the same time, but the way you describe it makes you sound like a child. Its like saying Shepard is your own character except he really isn't. So if they give a neutral option, I guess that really doesn't matter in your opinion because if I choose not to persue romance because I'm gay I guess i'm wrong because the devs said so...

I agree with this. The players "steer" Shepard, but Shepard has a mind of his own. That's why you can't have Shepard... I don't know, act like a nervous schoolboy around girls. Or act like a coward. Or join Saren/Reapers/Collectors/Etc

There is a kind of "minimal identity" to Shepard the Devs have infused the character with that you have to abide by.

Contrast with the main character in Dragon Age Origins. The main character is a blank slate, you can even be an evil Blood Mage that kills a whole lot of people including the good guys in your party.

P.S. : Yes, you are actually spot on that Shepard is your character and yet really isn't. That's exactly what's going on. And no,I am not being ironic. Shepard has an identity that the player has to mesh with, not the other way around.

Good for you, its so easy to say that, you're so mature. Consider the fact I have to defend my thead from people who have no idea what they are talking about and make mindless posts without even thinking or reading.

OR MAYBE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS LIKE BEING THE MINORITY AND HAVING YOUR RIGHT DENIED, why just becuase I'm gay?

So go ahead and attack the minority for wanting equal rights and options.

You haven't actually provided any proof to Mass Effect 1 forcing romance on people, so you're speaking a bit too soon, aren't you, oh Galactic Genius that we, the worthless masses have so injured you?

EDIT : For f- sake! So you're gay and you want to Shepard to be gay so you can be gay together and Bioware has denied you this inalienable right to be gay with your character so Bioware must burn... You know what? Boo-hoo-fu****g-hoo.

Neither me, nor Bioware, nor anybody else should care about your sexual orientation, neither is Bioware obligated in any way to represent any philias, be it xeno, necro, pedo, zoo or whatever. Shepard is straight/xeno because Bioware intended to it that way. Cry us a river.

All i meant was that you should just chill. Really, there's nothing that can be done about it now, so the point of complaining about it is? Just enjoy the game, it can't suit the needs of everbody, otherwis games would take years and years to develop. Btw i'm sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean it in an insulting way, only that the PS3 version won't get content such as Kaidan rom if the other versions didn't.  peace out
