Thanks for this. I just finished watching it all... I wish you hadn't cut out the boss fights, but i understand why you did it. I feel like have a greater sense of who these characters are going into ME2. I found Tali, Liara and Joker to be the more interesting ones. Every time Kaidan would open his mouth, i couldn't help to think of Carth Onasi from kotor...not that is a bad thing, but i was taken away from the story during those parts.

Glad you found it useful for context in ME2
I'll admit, it was a somewhat tough choice whether or not to include the end-boss fight (or the other boss fight in earlier episodes)... Ultimately, I decided against it since the boss fights in ME1 are not particularly inspired or interesting... the end boss is just about focus firing while he darts around like a cocaine-fiend ... a little difficult at times due to the speed, but not particularly gripping to watch as a viewer, I felt. The other boss fight was a straight-up shoot fest, once again, not overly exciting as a viewer (Mass Effect's strong suits are not it's boss battles).
Nevertheless, I can understand your curiosity of the fight.. perhaps I should have included 20 seconds of it or so, rather than the first 4-5 seconds, heh.
Regarding Kaidan... yeah, I hear that often actually.. that they're reminded too much of Carth from Kotor because the actor didn't really alter his voice for the role of Kaidan. While I've played Kotor many times long before ME1 ever came out, it's actually reverse for me now... I've played ME1 so much now that when I hear Carth Onasi (replayed Kotor a few months ago), I can only see / hear Kaidan
Oh, and thanks, javierabegazo, never actually expected a forum sticky ... much obliged.

Heh, even though I've finished ME1 several times, I couldn't stop myself from watching a few vids, nice work. But one question though, what's with the stuttering? Is it your video recording program that causes this?
I have no clue.. it never happens when I record ME2 gameplay or other games... only with ME1... I'm assuming FRAPS (the recording software) and ME1 don't get along too well.
Fortunately it occurs very rarely in the vids.. perhaps 6-8 times over the course of 41 episodes and each time lasting about 2 seconds. The worst incident is in Episode 2 where it cuts a few words off of joker when landing on Eden Prime.. lasts about 4-5 seconds, then goes away. Later on, it seems to occur when reporting to the council and cuts off like 2 or 3 words only from what they were saying.
Actually.. Dragon Age and FRAPS sometimes throw weird fits as well for me... no clue why there as well.

This is fantastic. I'm now inspired to record a playthrough from ME1 to ME3 now
Heh, I was entertaining the very same idea myself that after ME3 came out, I would one day make an entire story based video series from ME1 to ME3 using the same shep in each.... one huge compilation of my shep's story... I'd burn 'em to DVD and watch them like a huge tv show series or something
That'd be a helluva lotta work though

Thank you so much for this! As a PS3 owner, watching these videos was like the ME playthrough that I never got to do myself. Great job! My only problem now is that that Shepard is the only "real" Shepard in my mind. I'd really like to use her for ME2. Any chance that you could provide her creation code so that I can recreate her? Thanks again!

I think Xbox & PC codes aren't compatible with the PS3 version from what I've read from some users.

That would be unfortunate. I tried to create her myself but couldn't get her quite right. I'll give that code a try tonight and let you know if it works or not.

they should have made cutscenes from me1 where you get to make choices instead of a comic.
I'm not sure that would have been legal for them to do since MS still owns the rights. But I agree it would have been better.

ME2 does actually include scenes and images from ME1. Eg. the codex or the Normandy crash site. Although it probably was a licensing issue, either way(ie. money factor).

I mean they have never changed any hardware to the consoles right and still there is allot of difference in graphics over the passed years.
This is all work from modifieing/tweaking the engine? Bravo!

That's not entirely true, I used Jack (avatar) code on PS3 demo and it worked fine. That being said having looked at one of my other codes I had, I think some of the 'options' aren't in the PS3 version, I think it's mainly just the facial structures, can't check right now as I deleted the demo earlier on and won't be getting full version until later this afternoon (UK time) and I still haven't got a new PC to replace my dead one yet so can't compare them.Radwar wrote...

On-Topic: Good job with the videos Hathur. Got to say that having seen the previews for the comic I am a bit disappointed with Bioware. I think if I hadn't played ME myself (or seen any videos such as yours) I would have a completely different opinion to how I can/can't have Shepard reacting to things.
Edit: Also watching the videos got me wanting to sort my PC issue out so I can go and play ME again as well
