I just picked up the german magazine PC Games and it has some new information, or atleast for me..

Mage specialisations:
 - Force Mage
           125% Damage
- Spirit Healer
           +25 Mana
- Bloodmage
           +25 Health

Mage spell:
- Black Hole
     instantaneous draws enemies together

The Dalish Clan from Origins, Marethari/Merrill Clan have settled on Sundermount and thats were we have to go to deliver Flemeth's amulet.
And good chance that we can learn Bloodmagic there, since Merrill is a bloodmage, specialisation "Dalish Pariah". She is then send away by Marethari with us to Kirkwall and that she will be a party member.

When we arrive in Kirkwall we meet Meredith, the Templar Commander of Kirkwall and we are told that there is no room in Kirkwall.
Then we meet our uncle, who, if I read it right, has lost the family heir (the testament, Carver will go look for this) and he gives up a tip how we can get into the city: by meeting either a smuggler named Athenril, or a soldier named Meeran

We can at some point invest in an expedition into the Deep Roads by Varric's brother Bartrand

We help some Grey Wardens with a quest

EDIT: Marked topic header with a spoiler warning since you were pretty free with them here.

125% Damage instantly sounds excessive to me. At high levels it looks like insta-death for everything!

Rest of the information is really exciting though!!     This is going to be a painful wait!!

As in ME singularity, I would think a localized tornado would be more appropriate.

I think they mean +25%, which still may be excessive.

So it turns out Merrill was cast out of her clan for practicing in Blood
Magic? And the spell sounds like the one Revenants would use to draw
the party near.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

force mage

125% damage, so it's a 25% damage increase for mages. sounds cool.

Maybe mages are just biotics with different abilities.

The devs have said that there is no Force Mage specialization. What is FM called in German?
Maybe it's a mistranslation.

CHAAAAAAARGE!

Also, I'm pretty sure they meant 25% more damage (which is still pretty insane), because 125% sounds preposterous.

Darrah said loud and clear that FM is a specialization. All the devs did was mess with us when we were speculating about its use.

I don't understand, Marethari send Merril with us in Kirkwall? Or she exiles Merrill from the clan?

if you read it as 125% and not +125% it makes sense, at least it did to me as i thought there was a reason it was the only one without the + symbol when describing the mage specs

The denotation of her being called a "Dalish pariah" would be that she was exiled, as a pariah is someone who's been outcast or rejected.

Also, does anyone know where I could find that one screenshot of Meredith? I can't find it to save my life. I feel like it was tacked along with a preview of some description, but I don't remember which site.

Interesting theory, could possibly be because she was "bloodmage" possible brought harm to her clan (Templar or Dalish forbidden to use those dark art?) Unless, Marethari send her to accompany Hawke with good reason. At least Grey Wardens wasn't forgotten in Dragon Age 2, I hope (the Warden) made cameo though.

- Force Mage
125% Damage

Hot damn!, thanks for the info anyway.

Oh gawd. I hope Merill isn't really the blood mage teacher. I was hoping for someone human with a wicked (as in cruel) personality, like a Tevinter mage or the leader of an insane cult. I liked that the Origins method required making a pact or threatening a demon. This makes blood magic seem a lot less vile. :P Also, now I'll probably have to stand by while everyone calls Merill a blood mage and hardly anyone acknowledges my mage is one too. It's going to be like having Wynne around when playing a spirit healer all over again. Ah well, dems the breaks. I still want that specialization. Thanks for the update, OP!

Okay. I just find it weird that different devs would deny the existence of the specialization in different threads and at different times. Especially since some of those threads weren't even discussing its use. If it's a joke, it's a very elaborate one. But, I guess that Curse interview speaks for itself...
