Also, might be too early to say, but:"We don't need no Blood Mages in a party. Taking a hike will be her first action I'll have control of".

Hopefully they'll work out balance issues in beta (The part of beta that occurs prior to the release patch being finalised, of course

These specialisation bonuses need balance. +25% of damage is too big of a prize to pass. Or maybe it's because other specs have much more useful spells in them? Still, doesn't add up.
It doesn't add up because that isn't what the spec bonus is.

Let me guess, the bonus damage is only applied to physical staff attacks and the basic magic attack and not to every spell.Peter Thomas wrote...

Why would they cast her out for blood magic though? I mean, yeah, the Tevinter magisters used it to enslave their Arlathanese ancestors, but... nvmRazaroh wrote...
So it turns out Merrill was cast out of her clan for practicing in Blood
Magic? And the spell sounds like the one Revenants would use to draw
the party near.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe that's why her spec is called Dalish Pariah, keyword being pariah

Maybe only to spells in the force mage tree. It would make senseWittand25 wrote...

Well whos to say Tevinter magisters where the first people to learn blood magic? The Elves where there first, Maybe Merrill came across a bit of old lore that detailed very early Elven Blood Magic use or something. But yeah Pariah thing tells me that she probably was messing with forrbien magic and or working with demons. It will be interesting to have a probably good companion who uses " bad" magicWhite_Buffalo94 wrote...

Though honestly, I took for granted my previous unlocked classes from DA:O would still be available. I guess I shouldn't expect that.
