All the problems in the book with voldemort and friends could be solved if the wizards got help from us with our modern technolodgy! Serously their most powerful kills you instantly, well yea we have something like that except on a much larger scale do you know what it's called... A MOTHER****ING NUKE BABY! Even if we didn't use nukes we still guns tanks aircrafts and all sorts of neat things. Basically this is what would happen if muggles helped out.

Voldemort: Mwhahahahahahahaha I am going to kill you all!!!! Avada Kadav-

Death Eater: WHAT MAGIC IS THERE IS A HOLE IN HIS HEAD WE MUST FIND THIS WIZ-

Other Death Eater: AHHH WERE DYING RANDOML- OH **** WHAT THE HELL IS THAT GIANT GREEN THING WITH A POLE STICKING OUT OF IT QUICKLY SHOOT THE DEATH SPELL!!!!!!

Tank operatives: lolollololololololololololololololololol you cant hit us neener neener neeener. Let's blow em up lol.

KABOOOOOOMMMMM

*The soul sucky guys come*

Army: What do we do they're sucking our souls!!!! Oh wait lets just shoot them lawl.

Harry Potter pisses me off because I was called that at school. NoooOooo they didn't want to call me Harry Callahan or Harry Brown. Just Pothead.... Funnily enough I did have a ginger friend back then.

You know, I have never liked Harry Potter but I have tried to appreciate it nonetheless as a good children's fable.

Still, I can't like it. I think it's because I have yet to see a single idea in any of the stories which hasn't been taken from another story. It's completely derivative. It also takes itself WAY too seriously.

I also dislike the lack of guns in the HP universe.

What? They couldn't pop Voldy in the head with a 9mm?

Well, Harry Potter IS a fantasy novel series. Fantasy Fiction setting in modern times can get away with it. /grain of salt

But what annoyed me was how *SPOILERS* the whole theme of the books is death, yet the end of the sixth and seventh book mentioned this. Not to mention that Harry's special power was a dead woman's love. Grrr...

Meh, Harry Potter sucks anyway.

idk, i feel that the wizardly folks could magic their way past anything the (british) military could throw at them. whether through deception, magical defenses or serious magical firepower (key word; FIRE).

The only thing I hate about Harry Potter are the fanfictions and the role plays. People just can't write like J.K. Rowling and invent everything else... Makes me sick...

Harry Potter needs to get some action. Why hasn't he shacked up with Hermione after all these years?

This thread is only a little better than the LOTR fanatics that think Harry Potter ruined fantasy.

So in other words, you can't play, watch or read the vast majority of games, movies and books then?

Maybe the reason why "Muggles" aren't actively apart of the story is because they keep getting memory wipes? The wizards an witches do have that rule of "no magic around a muggle" for a reason, cause if muggles did know, the muggles would have wiped them off the face of the planet.

And besides, whose to say that it won't turn into a "Good Muggles & Wizards vs Evil Muggles & Wizards"????
That alone right there would just kill the story. And personally, if you don't like it or you hate it that much, why do you bother even watching or reading it???!!!
I swear, you make it sound as if you were dragged into watching ever single movie by your mother.

Is it just me who finds Daniel Radcliffe quite hard to like? Apart from that the films are okay; haven't read the books though.

I like Harry Potter just fine, but I do agree with the OP up to a point. There's a surprising lack of current day gadgetry and weaponry in a fantasy series set in modern day England. Couldn't they mix the magic and the modern like Jim Butcher did with The Dresden Files? As for Busomjack's complaint of lack of originality, well Mass Effect ain't exactly espousing original ideas either and we like it just fine.
