Is Dragon Age going to do that stupid thing where girl characters are ALWAYS dressed skimpily?

As a disclaimer I am straight guy, but it pisses me off so much when I equip female characters with armour and it turns out it's just a bikini or something stupid like that. It really takes away the realism of a universe when I see people fighting in armour that should be sold in a sex shop.

Heres an example: Morrigan okay I see she was raised in a forst I understand that and it makes sense but what doesn't make sense is that she's rags in a from what I understand a very cold nation. Espiecally in the wilds. Why wouldn't she be wearing a heavy mage robe to keep warm?

I don't mind nudity in a video game if it makes sense though, an example of this is the lady of the forest if she wore clothes that'd just be stupid.

Bioware has said many times they don't do the bikini armor. Because it's not practical and are not interested.

A broadsword to the chest is fatal. Doesn't matter if you're wearing a bikini or plate armor. Realism only goes so far.

Realism: Not a binary statement of right or wrong.

DAO Dalish light armor looked like cheerleader attire on female characters and fake boobs on the heavy armor was annoying-_-.

We have fem!Hawke and Aveline (arguably Merrill?) on the sensibly dressed front, Bethany seems to be middling (as a mage she can get away with more, but I still have to question random sexy chainmail that covers all the vital organs save for one rather important one), and Isabela as the least practically dressed for her role but still justifiable. On the other hand, the light armours in general weren't too practical in Origins (so many exposed femoral arteries!), and the damage taken isn't exactly realistic ("I  AM  ON  FIRE  no wait I'm okay now"), so provided they don't take it to the chainmail bikini extreme it's all good.

I would like it if my characters bewbs didn't grow or shrink based on what armor she's wearing.

Well, it seems this is split. Female warriors like Aveline and the female Templar are dressed in heavy unrevealing armor. The same cannot be said about any of the none-DLC rogues: Isabela and Varric. I know Isabela doesn't wear any pants or any armor, but Varric is the big sinner, much of his upper torso is completely exposed for the sole purpose of flashing his chest hair. Might as well put a red target where his heart is supposed to be.

Yeah, that was kind of my point. ;) It's a game, we've already established that the characters do not respond to being attacked the same way they would in real life, so it seems kind of unnecessary to complain about unrealistic armour*.

*To a certain degree.

No one would dare attack the chest hair. I bet it has its own rune slots.

Can you imagine a rune stone all tangled up in that forest of dwarf fuzz?

If they do, it would be explained away as "stylized." Though as has been said, only Isabella really qualifies and that makes sense.

Who knows? Maybe Varrik's chest hair is a form of armor in itself? I'm sure weapons bounce right off it, and his chest hair is probably fire resistant too.

If Varrik has chest hair, hopefully that means male Hawke does too. It's only fair!

Eh. None of the armor I see FemHawke wearing looks trampy. Isabela wears no pants, and Bethany is pushing out a ton of cleavage, but that's it. Aveline and Merrill are well-dressed.

He got the beard armor. It too has plenty of rune slots. If you decide to create a Hawke without a beard, you will loose the armor, the rune slots and get additional penalities in combat and conversations.

But the mages have had a big improvement, although still exposed where it counts, they seem to be wearing some sort of chainmail wrapped around or beneath their robes:
