I said that this seems to be the basis for every comment I've seen. You can get yourself up in a huff if it suits you -- I suppose if someone wants to take a "well I just don't like it!" stance without any other basis, they're certainly free to. Congratulations on having an opinion?
And you're doing it again.
Is Dragon Age going to do that stupid thing where girl characters are ALWAYS dressed skimpily?

I really very seriously hope you guys go back to more Dragon age Origins style in the future -.- This "idealized" thing is making me cringe.
I'll interpret that as you suggesting characters in Origins weren't idealized... which is a little bizarre. And I'm really not sure which part of DA2 you think is so different in this respect.
When I hear the word "idealized" I kind of think "Hollywood" Alot of flasha nd sexy women, hot guys, explosions and all that stuff.
Of course it's not quite the same since idealization is more of a style, I'd assume, english not being my first language. But I guess what I mean is that I feel like DA2 is taking more of a turn where everything is very flashy and kind over the top, sort of Mass effect 2 type of thing.
Mass effect 2 did this as well compared to ME1 to me. Outfits for girls were tighter, you had alot more explosions and things going on, alot of flashy effects but I felt the story was pretty meh. (It was basicly one big recruit mission)
Anyhow, just feels that, seeing the success of ME2, you do the same now with dragon age, which I find a shame since I want dragon age to be dragon age.
This has been said many times before, with you guys responding to it with all sorts of dodgy answers, but I guess I just want to voice the concern anyhow.
Unfortuantly though, not having played the game it's hard to really say "This is why it is idealized compared to DA1" since I havent played it, so I can just go by feel and things you say.
I guess i'm just growing old and my way of gaming is dying with it
EDIT: Sheesh I really went on a rant here. Anyway, I tried in my previous comment, to kind of not sound agressive towards you guys, becouse I know there's no point to it
I guess I Just wanted to let you know my position on it just becouse I know it acually gets heard here.

And then we all go shoe-shopping with Leliana. That's clearly how the dresscode issue resolves itself.

I though wonder if that huge gold neckbrace (that's what it looks like to me) is significant other than her finding it nice to look at.
Looks like grave goods to me or something to ward off bad luck. Notice the skull motif.

Ah. Strangely enough I hope she's not supersittious.
Though...I didn't read the codex on the Rivians (horrible I know) do they follow the Chantry? Or do they have some other religious beliefs?

Is it wrong that I refuse to buy boots like this? Well, I don't really wear them anymore these days, but back in my misspent youth when I did wear tall, complicated boots, I rather enjoyed the little ritual of the laces and buckles.

Yes! That is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. I want Isabela to be my racier BFF and tell me about her conquests as we sip cocktails and challenge each other to hit on various men in the bar.

The point was that where someone was raised is not always relevant to what social norms they choose or care to follow. It's argued that Morrigan wears what she does because she was raised in the Wilds. But you don't have to be raised in the Wilds in order to dress in a way that does not conform to what is normally considered appropriate. This is especially the case with a character like Isabela, whose very nature as a pirate is against the social norm. Why would she conform when it comes to clothing and not the law?

Nah my cousin is like you. She says she doesn't like zipping up her boots. I thought it was odd at first but I grew used to it.
Frankly the only boots I can stand to wear are hiking boots. Though I can't deny Isabela's boots look nice.
Really there should be a sidequest where Hawke steals Isabela's boots.

Varric bought the last donut necklace so she had to settle. It's so tragic.

Really? I thought Bethany had.
...Though thinking about jewelry has me wondering if Hawke can wear jewelry that actually shows up on his/her person instead of just being an accessory.

I've had friend who had srs boots and she would always let me unbuckle them for her when I visited. So, yes, I know a bit where you're coming from.

Straight dudes seem to be the one that dislike Isabela and her outfit the most, so I'm not sure why he needed to get that off his chest.

My point with Morrigan was simple, if your raised in a secluded envirorment where your free to pretty much do as you please you do not have the inhabitions that others have. Most should be happy that she had that much on if you ask me.
I don't even know how Isabella got into this as I never once even mentioned her, however she appears to be a rebel and rebels always seem to go against the social norms
