The 'iconic' outfit has pants. And the beginning armors have all had pants. Merrill seems to be wearing pants. I think we've only seen dude Hawke and Bethany in robes.
Oh, and "Anders."

Edit: Wait beginning mage outfits had pants? Do you have any screenies?
Though do we eventually get the iconic outfit? I hope so.
Merrill's only seen from the waist up though right?
Though on Anders we wouldn't be able to wear something similar to him because of the whole unique armor thing right ? So that doesn't exactly assuage my fears. The same goes for Merrill.

As a disclaimer I am straight guy, but it pisses me off so much when I equip female characters with armour and it turns out it's just a bikini or something stupid like that. It really takes away the realism of a universe when I see people fighting in armour that should be sold in a sex shop.
Heres an example: Morrigan okay I see she was raised in a forst I understand that and it makes sense but what doesn't make sense is that she's rags in a from what I understand a very cold nation. Espiecally in the wilds. Why wouldn't she be wearing a heavy mage robe to keep warm?
I don't mind nudity in a video game if it makes sense though, an example of this is the lady of the forest if she wore clothes that'd just be stupid.

The only problem I have with Isabela is that she has no pants.. I mean, wtf.
Oh no! A character in a tunic dress! Someone inform the Puritan Police!
Honestly, the fact that Isabela is always going to dress like Isabela, and someone can't switch her out into a dowdier set of armor just because is probably the thing I like most about the new inventory system.
Fair point, but her mother was dressed normally. So can we conclude that the developers wanted to not see old lady boob, and just Morrigan's boobs?wwwwowwww wrote...
My point with Morrigan was simple, if your raised in a secluded envirorment where your free to pretty much do as you please you do not have the inhabitions that others have. Most should be happy that she had that much on if you ask me.

I think it's the combination of really huge gazongas barely laced in and the panty shots in battle that takes it from "cute and sexy" into the realm of blatant fanservice.

Yeah, Ryzaki, I hope so too. My PnP mages always wear pants -- robes are so damned impractical.

And why is fanservice considered bad or negative? Saying you're all puritans because you don't like a provocatively-dressed character is like saying that Dragon Age 2 is full of scantily-clad women. It's an unfair assumption based on bias rather than actual fact. It's a broad generalization based on very limited experience with something; in other words a stereotype. Do some women wear revealing outfits in public on a regular basis? Yes, some of them do. Does that make them all "****s"? No, which is how the "Just because I'm dressed this way..." phrase came about.Addai67 wrote...

So the Mr. T necklace and boots up to her thighs make sense in hot weather? Heh.leonia42 wrote...
I don't really consider Isabela to be skanky, honestly.. she's just a liberal woman with a liberal dress sense. What else would you expect from a pirate? She's not trying to say "look at me, I am a skank!" she's just wearing what she's comfortable with. And really, on a ship, with the sun beating down on you all the time.. less clothing sort of makes sense. And those boots.. oh those boots make up for all of it.
Addai67 wrote...
I don't really care now that I know that our PCs aren't going to look like that. It's just... in a story-based game, having a neon sign flashing Fanservice is annoying. And again, it's not any one thing about her, it's the combination of an impossible figure with rather ridiculous clothing. But, she was made for the men, and as I discovered when innocently perusing Morrigan fanart, some guys get off on the look. So now it's come out of cheesy fanart and into the game itself. Progress for them, I guess. LOL
