No, no, it's a feminine trait. Walk up to any woman (preferably in a club, because clothes negate the impervious effect, and you want them as naked as possible), and just whack her in the chest. With anything. It'll bounce right off. Hell, if she's taking shots, she won't even feel it. She might punch you for copping a feel with a crowbar, though.

Ah which clubs are YOU going to because I'm pretty sure if I got clubbed in the chest with anything it'd hurt, even if I WAS doing shots. Boobs are sensitive you know.

Really though I'm not inclined to believe all those shots of Jacob's body until I see some.

Nope. College.

Hmm, it still sort of fits though. Men don't usually grow out of the whole "seing other men naked is bad, thus I must voice my displeasure so everyone knows that I know" stage for quite a while. Sometimes never. Or perhaps it's more of a sympton in your area then others, I cannot say.

This discussion does make me wonder the ratio of women who are opposed or offended because of Isabela’s clothing than men who are opposed or offended.

I'm not even opposed to it anymore. I'll probably just look at her outfit laugh/sigh decide to keep her at her home base/not take her at all and keep it moving. The same as ME2.

Would you overlook her talents/skills and potential party banter and such simply because of the way she is dressed? Not that I am judging you, I am simply curious. I left Velanna at the keep the entire time because I couldn’t stand her attitude, so I can relate to that.

Isabela and Varric are both rogues, correct? Then thier outfits makes perfect sense. I mean it's common to use ones sex appeal to steal, kill, get access to information and so forth.

With other words I approve!

I might have a harder time explaining the mage woman's robe though.

Are you talking about Bethany? I think she looks fine, the only thing that confuses me is how she keeps that chain corset/apron thing up. And that's a weight distribution issue, not an anatomy or appropriateness or fashion issue.

Isabella an okay person from what I saw in DAO. As a player, my "for the guys" radar goes off because of the big boobs, clothing, and sexuality. I have no problem with this so long as there is equality in the game, meaning women players are not ignored or openly treated as second-class (there are way less LIs, and those that are available are ugly either physically or personality). This does not seem to be the case so far. In fact, I kinda feel bad for the men in this round. ;D

To answer Bomb's question: no. I would never discriminate against Isabella as a party member based on that. She'd have to have the voice of a squeaky mouse, the personality of a ditz, and say offensive things at every turn for that to happen. In which case, it wasn't her clothes that did it, it was her.

Yes I would strangely enough. I just don't find such things enjoyable in my games. It's like a giant fun sucker (not immersion breaking because well...immersion means something different to everyone) it just makes me go meh instead of enjoying myself.

Though I relate with the Velanna thing. Its the same reason I left Morrigan behind. I didn't care that I was gimping myself a mage (and I hated the Tower and saved it for last most of the time until skip the fade came out) I just couldn't deal with her.

I think that Jacob's chiseled chest had just as much time on the center stage as Miranda's callipygous derriere.

There were plenty of polygons that everyone could enjoy, regardless of gender or sexual orientation in Mass Effect 2.

What? No.

Miranda talks about her sister--ass shot.

You romance Jacob and in the romance scene--he takes his shirt off.

Not the same thing. Miranda and Jack's fanservice is always there. Isabela's, too, and Morrigan's, if you don't change her outfit (hers to a far less degree).

I'm honestly not that concerned about it. If anything, I'd like appropriate fanservice.

Not "My poor, poor sister...she has an ass like mine"

"What?"

"I said, she'll have a fate my like mine. What were you thinking about?".

If, indeed, talking about Jacob's body pans to his abs--utterly appropriate. But otherwise, I don't want to see gratuitous cleavage and asses. It's just not appealing when srs bsns things are going on.

ok this is getting to me.

what does a guy have to wear to be considered fanservice? Seriously. Does he have to wear BDSM fetishwear?

Also, jacob and thane are wearing outfits that are downright ridiculous for their role (even moreso than Isabela in some occasions) to boost their appeal AND Thane was flat out created from the ground up to BE APPEALING AND SEXY to women

how are they less fanservice than Isabela for instance is beyond me

Thanks!, it took me more than a day to get that fan art image of Sten out of my mind and you go and put it right back!
I'm off for a brain washing.

same thing as females....close to nothing.

you realize those same outfits you are complaining about the females wear as well?

i think it's safe to say, as a female, i would know if a shot was fanservice for my gender and be able to ogle appreciate appropiately, just like the rest of the females in this thread.

Yup - have one of the males prancing about in a loincloth, and I'll be happy.

I put clothes on Morrigan in DAO because she was dressed completely inappropriate for the time period. I'm hoping that Bioware gives a toolset for DA2 so it can be modded. I really don't like the idea of not being able to change their clothes. I mean it was appropriate for ME2 since they wore uniforms so you could think that they had several uniforms and changed them. I don't think it's appropriate for the DA setting but I would have changed a lot of things if I was the dev. Since I'm not, I'll just play it as it's designed. I can see getting three playthroughs out of it, femHawke rogue, femHawke mage and femHawke warrior. That's 20.00 a playthrough divided by 25 hrs which means that I'm paying .8 per hour to play the game. I guess that's not bad for art and considering what you pay to go to a three hour movie comes out to less. It's 4.00 an hr to see a movie and that's just the ticket price.
