Watching the FFXIII-2 reveal today, my mind was brought back to this discussion. Mainly after they showed Lightning's new attire.

I think that's a) sexier and B) more sensibly designed then Isabela. Lightning's got slightly more normal proportions as well. Did a JRPG seriously just make their lead character a more sensible female then one in a Bioware game, cause if they did, I need to check what alternate universe I fell into.

Uh, no, I was disappointed on what I saw. Nothing to see there except some teenager.  BioWare mats has been by far better.

Also, Isabela isn't a main charecter in a game that SUCKED!  (Sorry,  FF rage.  It's hard to control)

Isabella probably realized that no matter what happened to her, there was always going to be someone to revive her.

So, she said **** it.

I'm a sucker for plate armor with a 'skirt', Anything will do the trick. As long as it's hanging down between the legs.

I'm so sorry. That was horrible.

Templar armor in DAO is a good example.

:kissing:

It was horrible. :o

I really didn't like the templar armor in DAO too much. THen again I found most of DA's armor to be bland. BW just doesn't do overly pretty armor to me. Some of it yes (WC armor) but alot of it ends up being blah (99% of mage robes/leather armor)

Am I the only one that finds that armor atrocious? It's a completely different style to all armor in the first game. The guy she's posing with also pulled a new style out of the blue. They already have several completely weird and divergent styles to pull from in 13 and they went with vacuum formed quasi-medieval breastplate? That doens't require rivets and a rolled edge when her metal belt somehow does?

Sigh.

Dear god. He has finally managed it, after trying for 10 pages.

The thread has been derailed.

She could be wearing antlers for a helmet, a tire for a top, and a potato sack for pants and I still would be bothered most by the pink hair.

I try /bow :P

Yeah, bland was the name of the game, the heavy stuff looked the least crap of the bunch though so I stuck with that.

Can't go wrong with the JRPG stuff if you want good looking armor, unfortunatly if you want story then yer back at Bioware.

Isnt FF 13 supposed to be in a futuristic sci-fi setting as well?  Like you said, having medieval looking armour in a game like that just seems odd.  Also, she is pantless, and that is apparently a very big no-no for people on these forums.

Rofl.

I have to tell a secret. I am not even sure how Isabella looks in DA2. Haven't seen any pictures, not even concept art. I have seen maybe one video of her, and if she was Isaballa I am totally clueless what is this all talking when the rouge has already been covered into boredom.

(The mage concept art of DA2 was awesome.)

I loled at the tire for a top bit.

That's amazing. If it was isabella though she'd need 2 tires, or a like a 747 one.

Edit: Screw you guys for all posting at the same time! *pouts*

Anyways she has a skirt (dress more like) so it doesn't matter that she's not wearing pants.

I find Isabela's pantslessness to be ridiculously more sensical than Lightning's. Lightning was supposed to be a... soldier. With a chip on her shoulder. In a miniskirt? Now with no pants. Meanwhile, Isabela likes sex. And her butt more covered than Lightning's.

And, yeah. Start making sense, Squeenix.

Pink-haired soldiers named Lightning is just the kind of thing that keeps me and JRPGs segregated.

Hell it's not like she wore much better clothing in the original game.

This squareenix character designs never made any damn sense.

I mean Lulu's skirt is made entirely out of belts.

I buy the whole young person suddenly shouldering responsibilty and overcompensating schtick she seems to have, but I couldn't have told you she was a soldier until I saw a guy with a similar shoulderpad. Even so, she's in a miniskirt. If that doesn't mark the difference between character design and fanservice for some people, I don't know what does.

I am migrating away from them too. If the title of this thread applies to anything, it's JRPGs... :(

Why are all the qunari hovering a few inches of the ground?

Also should I be worried that I looked at the barechested men before I looked for Isabellas lack of pants?

I'd also recommend this video if you want to check out what characters look like - it seems to have the most "updated" visuals.

Edit:  Good look at Isabella at 3:33.

I never bothered to notice her hair was pink or her pantslessness since recently. I was too busy fixating about how ridiculous the black guy's afro/chocobo nest was.

That sounds very practical. Almost as practical as owning a single set of clothes.

Wonder if I can get a package deal on some belts.

edit

And black gstrings.

Good. You should be.

Ontopic: Good grief people wanting Isabela to cover some vulnerable parts of her body isn't the same as wanting her to cover every part of her skin.

I don't care what kind of coverage she gets. I just want a male companion who gets similar exposure. Posted Image Freaky 10-ft goat men don't qualify.
