Is Dragon Age going to do that stupid thing where girl characters are ALWAYS dressed skimpily?

I fail in see how brasts can attract straight men in this way. It must be a Freudian thing.

If it is some sort of Freudian thing, then thanks the Maker I have that "flaw". There is no way I would want to get rid of it!

You go and, ah, have fun.

Had to Google how that Freudian thing went exactly, and I can say it made me laugh. It is a little bit pity I can't comment and critisize it in this forum, but who cares xD

Edit: How amusing xD I put a little bit more thought on it laughed as I ridiculated that Freudian booby thing to no end.

This
It's a fantasy role playing game in which characters have a tendancy to be larger than life, in more ways than one, beauty is pixel deep, just so happens Isabela has ample pixels.

Well, Isabela does have big assets but she also has a thicker body type in general. I wouldn't call Lightning's proportions average unless we're talking about fashion models, though.

Does she?  I think she looks really unproportional, but I guess we'll have to wait for the actual game.  That's one of my objections, that she's watermelons on a toothpick and while some find that attractive, for me it's distracting because I'm looking at her waiting for her to fall over.  The shot of Marian had her looking nicely proportional, so it stands out even more and makes Isabela look like fetish fuel more than a real character.

Oh, and I support dwarven romance!   I think you're right that the other races are people in the sense of "persons."  I see the other races in DA as just a different way to look at humans.

Well, yeah.
 *snip*

She definitely has a large chest and has a more pronounced hourglass figure, but she doesn't strike me as a toothpick, especially looking at her thighs and hips and more defined arms. I've seen thinner people with chests about that size so it doesn't strike me as totally unrealistic as much as idealized.

I guess she does have some hip.  It's the tiny waist that makes her look unbalanced.  Well, that and the huge  knockers combined.

The stitching on that tunic dress implies boning, so she may be getting some compression out of it to create that hourglass figure. Not extreme corsetry style compression, but Spanx level easily.

Sexiness overrides everything. Its a videogame, who cares if its immersion-breaking that your LI/companions looks like an idiot in her clothes.

It could be done without boning, small panels double stitched for reinforcement to create a small amount of compression (more for smoothing than cinching, good for hiding a small belly but not for totally reshaping the torso) without needing boning. Still not the most athletic garment one could dream up, but not as bad as my original theory.

Clearly I should've had sarcasm tags around my post. I've been arguing about Isabela's clothes from the beginning.

Didn't that go out the window when we saw that hunk of gold around her neck?

It's okay, the lack of pants make up for that. :P

I finally agree. It makes no sense for a civilian who avoids direct combat and prefers to be light, agile, seductive, and blend in with civilians... to wear civilian clothing, instead of encumbering, expensive armor. I also agree with the completely not ridiculous sentiment that because one female character does so, that it means everyone is now wearing bikinis.

As I've said before, unless it's really cold, pants is really just a cultural thing, and I sure don't know the fashion and clothing culture of THedas (or specificly The Free Marshes).

Sure, a cultural thing for every "modern and civilized" culture for the past 1,500 years. Even some not so "modern and civilized". And I'd say it's a safe bet that since everyone else we've seen in the game is wearing pants, pants are definitely in this year. ;)

Because it's not sexy to everyone. So it can't override everything. All your left with is ... "uh ... so ... am I supposed to take her seriously?"

Also, immersion-breaking is a serious, serious problem.

Edit: my bad, you were  being sarcastic.

Sure, though I must say I don't believe the straight thong coupled with the knee high leather boots have caught on anywhere outside of kinky foreplay and porn, either in our world or Thedas. Isabella is a true visionary when it comes to style and praticality, one less thing to lose before getting busy.

Oh, I wouldnt want to wear it myself (and I dont thinnk anyone else would want me to wear it either...), but for me, it does fiit what we know of her personality, and my main argument anyway is againt those complaining just becasue she don't wear pants, not the rest of it (even though personally, I don't have any problems with it).
