Well I am sure Morrigan was hotter than her so she would just have gotten jealous anyway.

At least your wife plays stuff like this , that has to be AWESOME

Most girls seem to be too lame to like anything fun

You just have to marry the right girl.

My wife watches basketball while I play games. I don't care about sports and she doesn't care about my games.

The only spooky part was when I was in a deep debate with Morrigan and my wife walked over and said, "I like that character"...

My wife likes to watch me play games on the Xbox (assasins creed, batman etc), and play car racing games with me as well.

But I got DA:O yesterday and just started on the mage origin story (still in the Harrowing) and she fell asleep! So think I may be on my own on this one..

Gfs are all needy attention ****s , why can't they learn to get through life without calling us guys 10X a day?

The thing I don't get is the fact you're at work seems to mean nothing to women.  Every girl I've ever been with thought absolutely nothing of calling and or texting me constantly while I was at work.  That leaves me with the choice of ignore her or have the boss think of you as the 'personal phone call' guy.  Thanks hon!

You didn't need her - my wife doesn't play RPG's really but can understand when something is important to me and deal with me being busy playing for awhile.

It's only fun to watch somebody play an RPG if you are a hard-core RPG fan.

I love my wife... but I have had at least 10 conversations with her in the past week that ended in her saying "you're not even listing to me, ****" and walking away... to which I yell "YEAH I WAS" knowing full well I was more worried about in game dialogue.

I've gotta say I'm glad yukantseame has learned that the only things that are important are what he wants and cares about. The rest of us on this planet were hoping he'd catch up and learn this valuable life lesson.

let's not be so hard on him. if he's at a point in his life where he wants to do what he wants and not be responsible to someone else, then the right thing to do was not drag her along and hurt her worse down the road. maybe in a few years he'll feel differently. i think he did the right thing, if maybe coldly done. i know my wife has gotten upset about how long i was playing. i just found different hours to play. :-)

My now ex is 4 hours away so we didnt see each other often but made it work. Before DA: O we texted all the time and talked on the phone every night. Once I got the game I completely lost the ability to care about communicating with her and would ignore her calls and texts so I wouldnt be interrupted.

She got mad about it and I dumped her.

lol

Done the same thing before myself, I could never make enough time to be with my one of my ex girlfriends and she always ****ed about it. Then she made a crazy ultimatum that if I wanted to stay together I had to give up Video Games all together. So I dumped her on the spot. I've been playing games since I was just a baby, and I wouldn't give it up for anyone. I went onto date a few more girls then realized their all about the same, so I just said "**** it, i'll hold off til im ready to get married".

I was going to start a post title "DA:O could easily ruin my life" but I think this post is following along the same lines. I was worried that my wife was gonna run out of patience with me and this game, but then she saw the t.v. spot for it the other day with the bad@ss redhead rogue and she was like "hey isn't that you're new game...could I be that chick?!" and I think i may have won a reprieve!

Your error was getting into any sort of LDR when you've only been together 3 months... Seriously. If it hadn't been Dragon Age, it would have been something else.

Marry or date a gamer. My hubby and I have been married for 15 years quite happily, sitting side by side on our computers playing games together or separately.
