I am going to swim against the current in this one. I do not have a gf. I am an avid gamer, but I realise that in life there are far more important things than playing games. Because it has to be one extreme or the other. Balance isn't possible, but hey, you've got the girlfriend/wife that society demands.

Hell, she keeps telling me "I'm so tempted to buy it" - in thanks for her patience and understanding, I bought her both the new WoW pandaren monk pet and Mass Effect [on sale for 10 bucks? Insanity!] - she's been getting sucked into ME and conversing with me about it xD
The point? It's all about how you handle it - sometimes the gaming side of things can show that you might not be compatible, but part of making a relationship work is also ensuring that both sides are being fair and compromise when necessary.
...god, I just sounded like a friggin marriage counselor right there.
*goes and stabs a Desire Demon* Take that attention-starved wench!

I'm under the impression you have yet to get your first gf then?
Once you do , and you realize how horribly over rated relationships and girls in general are you would never in 10 million years sacrifice gaming or who you are to be with them
You may at 1st be blinded by the ambition of getting laid , but sooner or later you would wake up and smell the coffee and realize you shouldn't compromise yourself for a stupid girl

Dude, any girl who would make you completely give up a hobby that is important to you is a real POS that you shouldn't even consider dealing with. That is just totally inconsiderate. Of course, consistently ignoring your gf so you can constantly engage in your hobby without taking time out to do things she likes would be equally POSish.

My wife is abroad though finish her final exams but I call her every day when I get home first and play DA if I have time. But then I love her you see, I'd rather speak to her than play DA. Zomg!
And when she is here, if Im playing a video game on the PC, she plays something else that she likes on the laptop in the same room. Bingo.

Yeah, plus they do come with a ton of microtransactions (and a few of the macro variety too) that you have to make to keep them happy.

Wasn't much of a girlfriend if she got mad about something you weer in the wrong about and your reaction was to throw her over the side. Or maybe I should say: you weren't much of a boyfriend.
So no harm no foul, either way. Why you up on here whining about it? It's not like you forgot to feed your dog for 3 days and he chewed your face off.

Dude, are you sure? I mean, have you *seen* her? If so, you might have a different opinion on what happened!!!

Why do I need to care about what happened? Whatever happened, it wasn't Dragon Age's fault right?

For all those guys having problems with girlfriends (or girls vice versa), take a lesson from the fine game in front of you. Try giving them gifts! I learned that some women are especially into hand mirrors, certain rare pungent flowers, and odd pieces of jewelry. Also, be sure to explore all of their dialogue trees, and if you encounter disapproval, just re-load a previous save.
Good luck!
If it were only so easy...

Good luck with getting to the 'married' state without giving a few gifts and doing a few favors now and then.
