A laptop to play NWN2 on ? (with some room for graphical mods) I'm a cpu noob, but used to love playing p&p d&d back in the 80's with my friends. All i want to play is the Infinity Engine games & the Neverwinters. I'm not concerned about the newer games, as i'm all about the d&d. (NOT the bs 4th edition though) lol. I asked in someone's thread in the off-topic thread too, but i figured i'll ask here also.
Can someone recommend ...

Well, get Windows 7 and make sure you have a dedicated video card, 256 mb of ram on the card will suffice, but 512 or more would be better.
No "shared memory" or "it's as good as" crap. If you get a sales person telling you this - run don't walk in another direction.
Make sure you have at least 3 gb of ram. If your CPU is an i5 or i7 (pricey in a laptop); all the better and make sure you get 6 gb of ram in these cases.
A dual core CUP will run the game fine... but the more power you've got the better.
Perhaps you should tell us where you are and what your price limit is.

Tough to find a laptop in that price range as NWN2 is still one of the more demanding games.
I used to play with the settings mostly turned down all the way on a laptop I bought right when it came out. This would give anywhere from 19-35 fps (frames per second) in game. Gets 60+fps (great btw) on start and some indoor areas. Playable but not always fluid or enjoyable.
Specs were good then but unthinkablely bad now for a laptop ( 2.0Ghz Core Duo, 1 GB ram, 256/256 dedicated/shared Nvidia 7600 in a Toshiba Laptop with a 15'' screen).
Completed the OC and most of Mask. However the first time i was working on the OC I melted the GPU and one ram card from the unit being over worked. But this is what warrentee is for. Now I still use it for NWN2 but only if my dual fan cooler is on. I also modded the case to allow more air flow into the case.
Running NWN2 on a machine with the sepecs recommended will not be a problem (much improved power effeciancy and performance vs my rig), but you still may want to get the aftermarket cooler.

Hardly top of the line when I bought it three years ago for $1100 CDN.
Something comparable today should be in your price range, if still available.
Just remember that laptops aren't easily upgradeable, so what you're buying is what you'll have for the most part; if NWN2 is the beefiest game you want to play on it (NWN, BG and BG2 all work fine on my laptop as a comparison), you should be able to do it.
The dedicated video card is a big kicker, and the extra cooling is important too.
