Infact in 99% of cases regarding video games it is deeply immature and childish.

WhØreson or equivalents are a rarity. There are so many profanities that its a shame that in games heavy on RP we onlny get a lick on strongly emotionally tinged and expressive nouns verbs or whatever...
E.g. "Your father/mother was a ryot!" (or copulated with one) was once the most offensive statement when slinging at a noble implying that his origin is a peasant one.
Dunno bout "a hundred thousand devils!" and if it works in english, some sailor counterparts may have been "a hundred thousand Tilean(or other port) whØres may take me!"
So muc hcolourful possibilities and non in games...sad.

Adding swearing to make it more adult and edgy is not a sign of maturity.
I can hear idiots ramble off in swear words everytime I go outside. What it really shows is not only a lack of maturity, but a lack of intelligence. But, please, keep standing up for everything they do. Bioware truly can do no wrong.
Can we get a proper sequel (ie one that acutally follows the last game stylistically, artistically, and all of that? This game has nothing in common with the last. Oh, but the ME/console kiddies are loving it so far)?
Everything I hear about this game actually makes me not want to play Origins again, knowing how badly they destroyed the sequel.

You're really looking for excuses to say that the game sucks and insulting the intelligence of everyone not playing on a PC?
A question for you, in what way does this game feature more swearwords than Origins. Unless you mean that Cassandra saying bull[feces] confirms your assumption? There was swearing in origins too.

Yep. When devs and writers adds lots of swearing in a game, it's not because they are immature or whatever. It's just because they want to make a character believable. I mean, in ME2, Jack swears every time. Why ? It's just because of who she is, how she grew up, how she lived. It's NORMAL to make her use those words.
And i really don't see why use those words could be immature. But it's probably because i'm french... We doesn't have those kind of problems with the so called "bad words" (and we have so many you could not even imagine

For the sake of all that is good in the World please drop the word sod or sodding and sod it all and use the proper F-bomb this time around F-bomb just roll's off the tongue ever so lighty lmao
I think the issue is that "sod" doesn't have quite the explosive gutteral sound one wants from one's swear words
YMMV of course, but BSG's "frack" has a much nicer swearier sound to it than Farscape's "frell" (though it's also because frell sounds like hell, a much tamer swearword than than the one it's an equivalent of).
I'd suggest "rutting" as an alternative to sodding if the f-word is off the table, though that also lacks in punch, or make up a nice punchy dwarven word to stand in, Farscape used a laundry list of offensive word equivalents up to one for the feminine c-word (and there were some very unrefined characters on farscape) and maintained an MA15 rating (except the first season, which had some slightly-too-realistic drug use) while coming off as a mature (if very screwed up) piece of television entertainment
its all Good i am vary unrefined Army vet and i drop the F-bomb about million times a day nothing phases me any more

One would argue that Subject Zero didn't belong in Mass Effect in the first place, much like how Hannibal Lecter doesn't belong in Finding Nemo 2.

Honestly, my kids try to pull the "everyone else in school is doing it" argument with me, and I remind them that an argument like that is childish at best and ignorant at the very worst. What's more, dropping the "F-bomb" (or other such masterpieces of speech) all over the place isn't even remotely "cool" or "edgy" -- in fact, it tends to make me think that the character using that language doesn't have two brain cells to rub together.
Robin Williams' little scene on "name calling" in the movie Hook is something that every dialogue writer should watch. There are so many other words and phrases out there that can be used to great effect, rather than always falling back on the seven words you can't say on television.

word should have had since its basically the only thing we hear from
Cassandra. Therefore, we don't know if it fits her personality, or if it was out
of the ordinary for her to use that language. For some reason, out of all her lines,
they put that one in the preview....
Cassandra, who is a holy templar or inquisitor... possibly very unlike any we met in Origins.

seriously you do aknowledge that profanity is common and you encounter it daily BUT Bioware should NOT put it in the game because it is a sign of immaturity and lack of intelligence?
what? there are no ill mannered, uncultured or otherwise crass and coarse individuals in all of kirkwall?
as for your question....if I answer with a "sten-no" are you just going to drop it, abandon the forums and go back to play DAO, BG1 and BG2? Because that'd be just pure, unadultered awesome.....and you know how us console plebean love us some awesome......

I would like some descriptive cursing in the game; word Fu©k is overused and overrated. Same goes for all those s.o.b.'s and motherf'rs.

Couldnt agree more. For a game that is set in an era where f word and there combos didnt even exsist one should use the more colorful and time approipiate swearing or curses. That can only help the game if its used right of course, but to throw in bull**** and maybe even some more modern swearing words....kills the spirit and the feel of a game/story for me. To have characters that are expert in curses can be great fun but set them in their right time perspective. BW are talking about timeline and interact with it, then use the proper language to add to the feel rather than try to get all modern a'la "Deadwood" here. Becouse that was just such a missfire that I couldnt belive it. Probably done by very young people who didnt know better and tried to amplify there own time to the Western era. Dont make the same misstake please BW.
To me f words are equaly missplaced as a machinegun squad in your party in a game like Dragon Age series.
Its just plain wrong imo. For ME 3 knock yourself out (if thats the route you want to go) , there it can fit since its a SciFi game and not a more historical one. A movie about Napolen using the f words on the horizon from hollywood anyone ? God help us all.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
