What playtimes do you have available. Do you play in the evenings (European/U.S./Australian)? Weekdays or weekends?

Ditto to what Banshe asked.

Also, do you have a NWVault link or some other information page we can look at?

This is the first I've heard of anyone hosting a DMed campaign (besides myself)... a nice addition. Has been a lonely proposition these past years....

Name: Realistic Measures

Authors: Various Prefabs were used and I edited them / put them together to create a believeable world.

Number Of Players: 4

Max Level: 1-25

Alignments: Any

Races: Any except Planar and Elemental.

Setting of story: Custom, a mix between various fantasies with low magic, and added realism.

Schedule: Every(Or every other) Tues-Thursday 9PM -6 GMT Central

Death: Perma/ Hardcore D&D Rules (Possiblity to "Bleed out" until -10, then death)

Role-Play: Heavy

PVP: FULL PVP

Number Of Areas: 80

Custom NPCs: Many custom NPCs, and Monsters, all edited within the game, no haks

REQUIRED HAKS: None, the campaign was created using standard tools from Mask Of The Betrayer, with some support for SoZ, various prefabs were looked over and edited to create the world. All you will have to do is download the module and join!

You may think I am lazy for importing prefebs but my knowledge and spare time to create believable masterpieces is limited. So I put to use many of the wounderful authors of NWN2 that put their work to the public , and put it to use in this module. I take only a small credit for some of the NPCs/Monsters, and a few areas, majority of the rest is claimed by said Author.

Not at all. Prefabs are meant to be used for the purpose that you are putting them to.

As for the times, I live in Europe so that counts me out.

Well the time schedule is still interchangable, I'd like to have a diverse group of people so I am sure if you state any times you are best available at, it could be used for other Europeans as well.

If you are planning for this to be an ongoing thing, you should look into using the ADL.

Dropbox is a good hosting solution for your files.

This way you could add/modify the module between games and not force all your players to download everything again over and over and over and....

Would love to participate but Tuesday/Thursday are the wife's nights and Wednesday is my own campaign night.

The whole concept of perma-death kind of bothers me as well... hard to get "into" a character that you could literally spend more time creating that playing with the semi-borked NWN2 random number generator going against you in combat.

This is a good thing. I once had a discussion with another mod author and I conclued that the community kind of missed the boat... so many projects would be done faster and less people burned out if we just released our modules as areas, and included a script and then DMed the game, rather than try to program 80,000 lines of script and conversations.

As for my interest... this is central time? So... it would be 10pm EST?

Also, consider scheduling your games on Neverwinter Connections.

For me, from 9 PM to 11 PM CET (Central European time) is good any day including weekends. That would be 2-4 PM for you (which I'm guessing is not good). It is a hard time for everyone.

@Banshe that actually would be a good time for me on Wednesday so I actually would be able to do that if your interested.

@NWN DM, I will definitely look into getting setup on that website as well, once I get it figured out.

@Eguintir, Yes I believe that would be accurate, though the game would start probably at 8pm central, so 9pm est, for you.

It may be a few days until I am finally all setup, got to get interested players, get everything setup, and I really want to get an Auto Downloader as NWN DM mentioned, sounds like a great idea, going to have to look into that also. Thank you all for your comments and interest, hopefully we can get something going soon.

With the ADL you'll be able to include hak content should you desire.

Much easier to make sure everyone has the right files (as they get them when they connect if they don't already have them).

I sent you an email.

Aiming for a Saturday 5PM -6 Central time, semi- got the auto downloader working, if all else fails will post a link to the module through e-mails from an external uploading source, currently I use dropbox.com but will probably upload to megaupload.com as well. I don't plan on adding much to the module as it has much already. so if your still interested want the link just in case the downloader fails drop a line at bubblej1218@gmail.com so I have your e-mail, please include your forum name.

Also I decided to change the theme of the module to be based in The Sword Coast with a more realistic gritty take on things, mostly because I found the prefab Baldurs Gate to have a lot of room to work with on a DM level, so I added the erfs to that module instead. But that also means you will have to get the haks for the module as well, which will be included in the upload.

Also do to their being two starting cities in which players can choose from Baldurs gate, or the drow in the underdark, I would like to try to work with -1- experienced DM to handle the Underdark side of things should a player(s) decide to take that route instead. (Note that only the appropriate races are allowed to start in the Underdark)

Just to clarify, that is 5 PM Central Time, yes?

You stuck a mysterious "-6" in there.

Please let me know when and if you get the Euro game going?

Probably can manage that.

You will want to change the name of you module to avoid naming conflicts with the actual PW which is still in operation.

Also, I strongly suggest you post on Neverwinter Connections ASAP.  Here is a link to some players who apparently would be available on a Saturday, for roughly the time you're planning:

Post a game man!  Post a game! ;)
Get 'em while they're interested or loose 'em for ever.

I believe the actual quote was:

...Tues-Thursday 9PM -6 GMT Central...

-6 GMT is CDT in the US.

(GMT = Greenwhich Mean Time, CDT = Central Daylight Time, when we go back to CST, (Central Standard Time) we will slide to -5 GMT.)

Does it have to be so gritty? Cant we just have like... a normal campaign. Its my first one and I find real life to be miserable enough some days :)

Surely we can make do with an average level of grit?

I don't see why not either way, and i mean the only "grit" thing about it I guess would be the perma death factor, other then that just consider it a more realistic version of fantasy. If that makes sense, haha.

Ya realistic? You would be surprised how many campaign players critique how unrealistic mods are, notwishstanding dragons, devils and people running around withe fireballs exploding from their fingers.

Thats a fine definition by me (death, challenge factor etc). Im just not a fan of the overdone dragon age stuff where you walk around with blood all over your face during intimate conversations and the general manic depressive atmosphere.

I do like atmospheres like infinity games, NWN2 OC etc where this is some comic relief and some areas are just interesting or challenging for their own sake.

a) Get a game posted on Neverwinter Connections and promote it so people will sign-up.

B) Let us know what your projected initial download size is (should be everything in your Public folder on Dropbox plus whatever (if anything) you've got hosted elsewhere.

c) Server Name and Module Name

And let's get it started.

The module start for today is on hold, I added a certain prefab to the module and now it gives me tons of errors and refuses to start, so I will basically have to read everything to see what was the issue, sorry I haven't really been on the ball about all of this, I really want to get this working but I want to make sure everything in place.

I will post here for more updates if I am still having it today or not, sorry again for all of this.

Did you bake all your new areas once they were added to the module?

You do need to do this.

Also, make sure you sent everything to the ADL etc....

What specifically is the error you are getting?
