My dilemma is, even though i avoid using a Sniper Rifle if i can't decide what sniper rifle i'd like to use otherwise. I have the Incisor on me right now but idk how i feel about it.
So anyone who played a Shotgun Infiltrator can you give me some tips?

It's my favorite sniper rifle in the game.
Yeah. I said it (and i have used the awesome Widow).
edit: but really, look in any of the Infiltrator threads lately. All of them are using the Viper alongside their non-Widow DCS weapon choice. I use the Viper alongside my Scimitar. The Viper is always awesome with the Infiltrator's innate sniper scoped time dilation. It's like a mini Adrenaline Rush that can be reactivated with every hard aim. You can get three to four headshots off of the Viper's 12 round clip during that dilation.

Viper is a n00b gun. Perfect for the 'spray-and-pray' type.

So i'm playing a CQC infiltrator and i mostly stick with my Loctus, but i'm considering taking a Shotgun on the Collector ship.

A CQC Infiltrator is best with the Viper hands down. Make use of maxed out cryo. I use Squad cryo but the other option is good too. Just be sure to retrain and use maxed out disrupter ammo in missions with only synthetics (like Tali or Legion's loyalty). And definitely get the shotgun training. I tend to use the Geth Plasma Shotgun because its outrageously powerful, but the Schmiter is equally as effective - probably better - in terms of crowd control with the appropriate ammo power attached.
Good bonus powers to use are: Reave (my personal favorite), Energy Drain, Flashbang, Geth Shield Boost, and Neural Shock. Stasis isn't the best choice, but it's not bad either. In any event, have fun!

Since when are there trolls here?
It takes more skill to land multiple rapid fire headshots with one clip of the Viper than it does to land one headshot with the Widow/Mantis.
Anyway the Viper is really the Shotgun Infiltrator's only choice. The Mantis doesn't do enough damage to OSOK mid-late game and the Incisor has terrible ammo issues.

The worst thing about the Mantis is not damage or RoF, but that it only has 10 shots, vs the Widow (13 shots) and the Viper (60 shots).

And i have to agree, with a CQC infiltrator the Viper is amazing, i've shied away from it on all my other play throughs, but for what i'm doing now its Invaluable.
Also, im rolling around with the Evi, its super nice. I do miss using the Locust though.

Especially once I get the 5th or 6th upgrade. It makes it more powerful and it's fast.
That's just what I prefer
For snipers I've always been a 1 hit kill kinda person, but when running a shotgun, Viper is ideal. When you go invisible, get a damage boost, then use reave or whatever to keep getting your health back, so you don't need to get in to cover for long. I assume with shotguns it's the same, so long as you have reave?
Then focus completely on Health upgrades and stuff..

I find i lack a certain level of CC, i do use squad cryo but it'd be nice to have something to throw or cast on command.

Engage enemies at range first (Viper + Cryo); remove their defenses and freeze the lot; switch to your shotty; move in and kill em one by one - using Neural Shock to keep the others at bay, waiting for their turn to get their heads blown off
