I forget what Jack says exactly but. When she talks to you about the next time she kills she carve your name on the scene of the crime. I think she meant it as a nice thing but I couldn't help but thinking. "really? Thanks? Set me up to take the fall for your murder. Get the galaxy coming after me."

The whole of the VS conversation on Horizon is one long cringe fest for me, but my personal "favorite" is:
"It's been a long time. How are you?" I think the VS has every right to go balistic after that.

Miranda's loyalty mission.

Ugh, not even Hale could salvage that line.

The number one cringeworthy line is the one from Jack's loyalty mission: "It's weird, it's like, I'm pissed off, I'm a dangerous b****, but then I'm a little girl again. S***, it's complicated."



If I didn't hate the character already, this line sealed the deal. It's hard to take her serious with those looks already, but BioWare is trying way too hard to make a deep character with Jack. She's not deep, she's clichéd, and not in a good way.

And some line I can't remember about exploding heads and sniping from some number of yards.  No Miranda, the extent of your biotic powers is throwing Warp and you have no sniping skills at all.

Ashley's YOU'RE IN THE PRESENCE OF A GOD line was not just horribly stupid but out of character.

Everything Jack says ever, with "all-powerful b*tch" taking the crown.

Most of the dialogue Shepard has in LOTSB, I try to play my Shepard as stoic and professional, but most of the dialogue makes Shepard seems childish. I can understand Shepard and Liara are friends, but the best example of friendship that seems appropriate for my Shepard is the one between Shepard and Garrus.

-Anything Liara says in ME2 pre-LOTSB DLC.

-Anything Mira (Peak 15) says. It's scenes like those that made ME1 a rather cringy experience (until you got to Virmire, then it was pure awesome). Along with a lot of bad voice acting. A lot.

I gave up on that a while ago, but most of that just seemed like....convoluted nonsense. This, it's like, so completely out of character. I almost think Jacob had Wilson install a secret sl*t implant in her brain that he toggles every time she comes into the room.

Marina Sirtis (Troi, Star Trek: TNG)

Yes. A mediocre actress, but, to be honest, she sounds more convincing there than the whole of Mark Meer's performance in ME.

And her scene was probably the low point of ME1.

However, I think a big part of the cringe-worthiness was due to the game not being able to make quick dialog cuts, so what should have sounded like interruptions and quick, emotional replies came out stilted and broken. The dialog was already weak, but that just made it weaker.

Agreed. Not to mention her death is ruined by a dumb line about not seeing a light with the action music coming back into play.  Talk about emotional whiplash.
