Meredith Stannard is the Knight-Commander of the Templars of Kirkwall and the main antagonist.

Posted Image
Her hatred for mages: When Meredith was younger, her sister developed magical talents but her family decided to shield her from the Chantry. One day, Meredith's sister was possessed by a demon, turned into an abomination and killed the rest of her family save for Meredith, who survived. The Templars eventually slew her sister, but not before the Abomination killed 70 villagers. This experience led to Meredith's harsh view on magic and why mages must be treated as people with a curse.

Given I didn't know this, I'm rather glad he did. Where was this information given?

Okay. He posted information that no one knew 16 hours ago and that isn't in a sticky, but you're acting as though this was common knowledge.

Thanks for the link.

Thank you. I've had a busy day and wasn't able to constantly monitor the forums. I'd have missed this if it weren't for you.

Hm? Me? Actually, it was a real question. I wanted to know if this is a discussion/appreciation thread.

She looks really big in that shot. Combination of armour and angle I suppose.

She reminds me Morgause. Because the two of them are blonde and their names start with M :<

It's just the angle.

She's standing on a hill.

And her armor is just baggy in front.  Posted Image

What? Why do you automatically assume she's a **** and want to kill her? Because she's doing her job? More people in Kirkwall means more crime, more potential for dangers of all kinds, and even disease.

Meredith looks cool, if a bit stoic. But she has to compete with Gregoir, one of my favorite NPCs. I hope she has ambiguos female mage lover. ~

Someone quick, start a thread asking for Meridith to be an LI!

She must be like, the anti-Alistair.

Precisely. I get the stoic air from her, as well, but she hardly screams b*tch, imho. You can't exactly be chummy with everyone when you have that much responsibility on your shoulders, and Kirkwall is a LOT larger than the Fereldan Circle Tower.

You know next to nothing about her, and you want to kill her. Well, that certainly smacks of emotional stability.

Her presentation. The same as Cassandra.

Though I'd be more likely to say hard-ass. I can imagine her as a drill Sargent.

I also like her armor. Especially because there's no... metal balls on her chest. God, these things were horrible. She gives me a Aveline-vibe, but more... experienced.

Man, what is with all the hostility today?! To me, all templars are a-holes who need their sticks pulled out that's shoved half way up their rears. And I never said I wanted to kill'er! Just that she wouldn't like my mage Lady Hawke! I ain't a fan of the Chantry and I am tired of hearing about Andraste (Leliana WORE.ME.OUT with that). That's all, that's it.

She looks like she doesn't tolerate even the slightest nonsense. I like her already.
