I don't see how that can be true.

Rage and Hope, for example, are both just spirits according to Enchanter Mirdromel in Beyond the Veil:

experience: Rage, hunger, compassion, hope, etc. This one idea becomes
their identity. We classify as demons those spirits who identify
themselves with darker human emotions and ideas.

Demon is just a term to deride the "dark" spirits.

Ah, so that woman was Meredith! Name suits the face actually. I am also insanely pleased to the point of almost cackling that they made a tough-as-nails woman look *gasp* attractive as opposed to old or just ugly with a grudge.



As a side note - I love the new more angular less shiny-all-over armour. Makes it look more kick-**** to me and durable. The new model armours also look less overall shoulder-wide, which makes me happy!



Can't wait to meet more of this character ( and possibly be berated by her)

I agree completely...especially since it looks like Hawke and Aveline will get some of the sam armor types, though I
m this is the case with other characters as well...judging from the look of rogue armor now...

On topic... I also can't wait to learn more of this character...would love to know her stance on things in Kirkwall..as hearing from both her and whomever she is supposed to be against will probadly help me decide which I will lean on siding in this game( though I suspect the sibling will have some interesting input on this as well).

That's why I liked the Legion of the dead armour in DAO the best. It was dark and angular as opposed to "knight in shining armour" Juggernaut plate.

Maybe, she has a really high strength stat...LOL.

Let's see that looks like silverrite level armor...so her strength stat is probadly about 38...for massive armor.

@ Tinxa... your not the only one that liked that armor the best... I took that armor with me to awakenings...just cuz of how badass it looked...though I did drop it for the armor of hirol defense and so sigrun could wear it...so she would have on some legit looking legion of the dead armor set...

From the video clips it looks like she'll actually be helping/or be friendly to Hawke. She's always around when people are clapping and cheering to Hawke and gives Hawke a handwave of approval when Hawke comes up the stairs.

She's a Templar, and she apparently keeps my Hawke and his family out of Kirkwall... Plus she looks overly arrogant, and stuck up, and I hate her... I want her to die.. Painfully.

I really think that the OP should write some lines about whats that he finds appealing in Meredidth and why she deserves an "appreciation" thread.

That should help to steer the conversation in a positive way. And give less room to cheap jabs directed towards this thread.

Otherwise this will just remain a "we love Meredith"/"we hate templars" discussion thread...   While that discussion certainly has its merits, and I wouldnt say its OFF TOPIC, Im sure it wasnt the original purpose of the OP.

Myself? Why I like them Templar folk. They bring justice to the land they do. Now I'm just a poor farmer n part time merchant I am, but me uncle, he was killed by one of them escaped mages that turned into an abom....abomi....one of them there demons.



Then there was that time in Denerim, way back when. One of them apostate kind of people was running loose n she killed dozens over time fore they caught her. No siree we can't be takin no chances. Me and me blokes are no fans of that stodgy old chantry, no indeedy and those Templars are a dour sort but they is not mean at all and they keep us safe.



The mages, well I feels sorry for them I do, they is people as well but we can't take a chance. We the farmers guild of Kirkwall.....we support our Templars we do. One bad mage can ruin yer day.

Thats probably after she's already treated you like the worthless refugee she thinks you are.
Oh sure she's going to end up being nice to you(if you do what she wants), but only because you've proved useful to her. Also she's only blessing you, and cheering for you because once again you did what she wanted..

I imagine that the Hawke in the vid..(Warrior Hawke btw), supports the Templars.. I bet she'd probably spit in your face once she finds out if your a Mage. But I'm sure people are going to overlook this and she's gonna have her own little fanclub despite being two-faced..

I don't see an issue with peeps speculating based on a screenshot. Move on if you have nothing to contribute.  I personally think she looks like an individual who doesn't take any bulls$#!.  Can't wait to meet her.

I highly doubt shes just stopping the Hawke's from entering Kirkwall. I bet most of the Fereldens aren't allowed in because of all the issues they could cause.

Then you have proven to be just the type of irresponsible mage that we the Templars must protect us against.  And you, and those like you must shoulder the responsibility of the 'persecution' of the mages.  It's the mentality that 'I can do whatever I want and never be possessed.' that has gotten the mages in the bind they are in now.

Indeed, many mages have earned the distrust and fear of the populace.  We must protect this city and it's citizens from the likes of you.

If i recall right, Mr.Gaider confirmed in another thread that spirits and demons are the same basic kind of being (inhabitants of the Fade). What sets them apart is the type of emotions they take after, so to speak.
