True. His robe does look very official and it's possible the black-red-gold combination are the official colors of kirkwall. Meredith's hood is also red and gold, as are some of the flags around kirkwall (visible in a few of the Isabella pictures)Russalka wrote...
He could be the First Enchanter.

If its mageocracy, shouldn't it be templocracy rather than theocracy?
Never mind me, I just need to post and the other threads are too boring.

I think Hawke will rule as Viscout . If not him then he may pass it on to either his brother or sister, or maybe a cousin.Lotion Soronnar wrote...
I don't see that happening.
1) both "candiadates" for the position are not someone I would pick.
2) Why would Hawke determine who the next Viscout is? The whole selection thing was already stretched in DA:O, where everyone follows the Wardens lead.

"templocracy" No because they don't govern. They are just one part of the larger church. If anyone rules it will be the Chantry.commanderVal wrote...

Well if Orsino is a Blood Mage (Leader) and Meredith is commander of the Templars in Kirkwall it would make sense that they fight.
I'd depend on what the templars/mages were like. If the mages were going to set up some kind of Circle that was run and policed by mages, then I'd support them. But if it was some 'anything goes' deal then I'd go for the templars. Tbh though, I agree with the approach that Wynne takes - that the templars serve a necessary function in regard to mages, just like police in real life serve a necessary function. You can't trust everyone to be good so there must be people to counteract the bad. What I don't think is good is how much power the Chantry has over the whole situation.
Hopefully, in the game the mages and templars will not be 'evil mages vs templar protectors' or 'oppressed mages vs dictator templars'. I want to be a proper decision for why I would support one or the other. Same goes for Orsino if he was the leader of the (blood) mages. I'd want good reasons for why he chose blood magic and what he'd do with mage freedom.
Maybe, but they're so extreme in how they handle things. For example in DAO the mages rebelled. They didn't do it for power they did it for freedom. The blood magic was just a means to an end. Templars made things so horrible for them that they were willing to do just about anything to end it.
Call me crazy but I don't blame the mages for what happend at the tower. It was the Templar's fault for creating such inhospitable living conditions. It the Templars don't learn from they're mistakes they'll be destined to fight mages until the end of time and it doesn't have to be that way.

If you do choose sides in this game, I am wondering what would motivate Hawke to want to side with the Templars. Either Hawke him/herself is an apostate mage or his/her sister is an apostate mage.

Simple, the world is in relative order with mages under control of the Chantry. If you unleash them in the world many bad things may happen. Right now mages are hardly treated fair, but question would be if Thedas is on fire due to mages who are out of control, will it be better?

Er, it didn't strike me as inhospitable, just that they weren't aloud to leave and scrutinized. And if anyone's to blame for the tower incident, it's Uldred, the guy who thought summoning demons and using blood magic was a good idea.Other mages may have merely wanted freedom but he led them astray.

Yep, that what I mean if something going against the rules (mage/templad viscount, warden prince/princess consort, or even king) it doesn't meant it could not happen.
Something grand shod be a reason for DA2 unrest and this thing is not linked with grate ancient evil or secret order. [/quote]
