Mages are not allowed to have their family's titles or lands associated with them- much less an apostate and maleficar.

So templars, who gave their life to the duty.

Or Wardens.

1) That would be stupid.
2) That would be near impossible.

Isn't that what Bioware protagonists do? The near impossible?

Agree on the stupid though.

Anyone still have the pics from that one trailer involving the army of Templars versus the mystery army? Maybe that is something to consider as well...

Well it was rumored that Cassandra would return in DA 3, playing a bigger part.
So maybe the world is reshaped in some manner.

To make some speculating happen do you think he is going to Evil or Grey, I say this because I doubt a blood mage could be a good guy assumeing he is there leader and everything

Well if Orsino is a Blood Mage (Leader) and Meredith is commander of the Templars in Kirkwall it would make sense that they fight.

out of curiosity if you guys had to choose between the two factions, who would you side with?

I'd depend on what the templars/mages were like. If the mages were going to set up some kind of Circle that was run and policed by mages, then I'd support them. But if it was some 'anything goes' deal then I'd go for the templars. Tbh though, I agree with the approach that Wynne takes - that the templars serve a necessary function in regard to mages, just like police in real life serve a necessary function. You can't trust everyone to be good so there must be people to counteract the bad. What I don't think is good is how much power the Chantry has over the whole situation.

Hopefully, in the game the mages and templars will not be 'evil mages vs templar protectors' or 'oppressed mages vs dictator templars'. I want to be a proper decision for why I would support one or the other. Same goes for Orsino if he was the leader of the (blood) mages. I'd want good reasons for why he chose blood magic and what he'd do with mage freedom.

"that the templars serve a necessary function in regard to mages"

Maybe, but they're so extreme in how they handle things. For example in DAO the mages rebelled. They didn't do it for power they did it for freedom. The blood magic was just a means to an end. Templars made things so horrible for them that they were willing to do just about anything to end it.

Call me crazy but I don't blame the mages for what happend at the tower. It was the Templar's fault for creating such inhospitable living conditions. It the Templars don't learn from they're mistakes they'll be destined to fight mages until the end of time and it doesn't have to be that way.

Er, it didn't strike me as inhospitable, just that they weren't aloud to leave and scrutinized.  And if anyone's to blame for the tower incident, it's Uldred, the guy who thought summoning demons and using blood magic was a good idea.Other mages may have merely wanted freedom but he led them astray.

"And if anyone's to blame for the tower incident, it's Uldred"

Yes perhaps he was the instigator, but the reason he was so successful is because the Templars had made things so bad that the mages were willing to rally behind anyone that promised change. And why did they want change so bad? Because of the atmosphere they were forced to live in. Uldred united them this time yes, but it easily could easily have been someone else. These types of things will continue to happen as long as mages are treated like threats and convicted of crimes they didn't commit.

Which is why we should start following the Qunari example.

I don't think bioware will write any evil roles outside of demons. IMO those just aren't good stories. Grey vs Grey is much better.

Oh and good is relative. Lets say he is a blood mage does him being that make him evil? Templars would say yes, but I would say no. Its really based on perspective.

Lets assume he is the leader of the blood mages in the city. He is only leader because the other mages see him as a positive influence and a good person. The Mages say good Templars say evil who has the right of it? Well I guess that depends on the player.

These statues can also be found in Vigil's Keep, which is about as old as the Avvar Barbarians.
Maybe the group/cult Orsino is part of is much older then I first thought...

Just that you had to unlock it by giving Connor to a demon. Of course you could 'cheat' by unlocking it, loading an earlier save game and then play innocent. Which I also did btw. That's one of the sore points of DA:O.

I also hope that you have to unlock a Specialization each time you play, would make it more interesting to get it other ways.

Then they would have to create other ways to get the specialization otherwise it would get boring really quickly
i think that could be a problem because that would require extra energi and time which would remove their focus, or they'd halfass it, so that you'd meet three different people, talk to them and convince them to teach you the skills ala. "Hey wanna learn how to kill people with a toothpick?"
what would be better is that if you put the specialization in an interesting situation.

Yes, but having a different way of aquiring it. Let's say that Rivalry Path and Friendship Path have different ways of getting a specialization. That would be interesting, no?

Oh like that, well sure, it would stil take a lot of effort though, but it be really engaging

If there is a Blood Mage orginazation outside of the Tevinter Imperium, how old do you think it is?

Personally, I think it is relatively new. But based on something older, maybe something the Avvar worshipped (like that three headed dragon thingie)

Huh? You can just intimidate the s*** out of demon twice, banish her and still get the blood magic. I know I did that, though I reloaded too then, but for the different reason - to spend some *good time* with a demon of desire because just the idea of that was so cool.
Demons are't that bad when you get to know them.

P.S. I will choise Orsino's side if the question will come.
Hail to the Thay, long live Red Wizards!

Yeah I did the cheap way too, but there is a way to learn it and keep the demon away from Conner. You just have to use intimidate

Its also possible that the Statue was added to the keep much later. We just don't know at this point.
