OP is the guy who complained about the foul mouth of Subject Zero making ME2 less mature. His thought process is obviously damaged.

408 vs 288.

Indicative of lack of content and depth?

The first CE guide has 30 pages dealing with the origins, which aren't an issue in DA2, and from about page 334 on is all of the extras; lore, concept pictures, and an interview with the developers.

So that's about 100 pages there. According to amazon.com, the DA2 collector's guide only has 16 pages of extras, so....

304 vs 272 pages of actual game-related content.

Not that big of a difference now, is it?

Umm 288 isn't considered a lot of pages?

That's where I was. :)

DA2 is shorter than DAO. Beyond that, I'm not so certain that strategy guide length is a good barometer of playtime. Even so, 288 pages sounds like a lot of reading.

:crying:

By how much?

Origins don't count as content?

Of course they do. But it is pretty basic knowledge that they don't exist in DA2 since we only have one background to play through.

That does not mean DA2 lacks content. That means DA2 doesn't have THAT content. Still, if it makes you happy, put that back in.

334 vs. 272 pages of game-related content.

If that gives you something to complain about, it should be that the collector's edition guide has about 60 fewer pages of extras compared to Origins.

They just made the print smaller. Mini me font 8. You actually get twice as much info but you need a microscope to read it all. This includes a new bonus novel by Dave Gaider titled "I'm the maker and the rest of you are wankers."

Yo hang on one second! Where does the information about the length of the guide come from?
I love these guides even though I don't actually use them much! I hope there will be a Collector's edition like the Origins one...I better keep an eye out on Amazon...woohoo!!!

[EDIT]

Sweet! Pre-ordered the Collector's Edotion guide, looks awesome!

The collector's edition guide is available for preorder from Amazon right now, and for $12 less than other retailers.

And that is where the info is coming from.

Or, y'know, it could be a shorter guide since there's no longer 6 origins to do a walkthrough for...

This
The Origin stories took up a good chunk of the DA:O strategy guide.

I wondered if anyone else recognized him. He doesn't seem to hang out on the DA2 board except to snipe at it.

I read the description on Indigo's site, and it seems that the DA2 collector's guide won't have the giant lore section that the Origins collector's guide did. That's really disappointing to me because the giant lore section was the best part of that guide for me.

*looks at her old (and well thumbed) Baldur's Gate II guides - SoA and ToB*  Dang, those are skinny.  1/4 inch.

*looks at the REST of her guide collection*  The thickest is Fallout 3 (nearly a full inch) and the thinnest is a toss up between DAO and Fallout: New Vegas at something less that 3/4 inch.

I can tell you for a categorical fact that every single one of the games represented by those guides (including the ones I didn't name) were (to me) fun, engrossing and loved to pieces and back.

Size of guide means nothing.
