Hello all. I emailed Amazon.co.uk regarding DA2's pre-order bonus items, and this was the response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

I apologise for the delay in responding to your e-mail message. Please be assured that all of us here are working very hard to provide a thorough, personal reply to each of our customers as quickly as possible.

I have checked this promotion and I can see that Amazom.co.uk is not directly participating in the promotion. Please accept my sincere apologies for this situation.

In order to take advantage of this promotion, you must place a qualifying order directly with the manufacturer.

I am very sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations this time around. I hope that you will allow us another opportunity to serve you in the future.

Thank you for your interest in Amazon.co.uk.

Personally, I'm more than a little disappointed. I'm also not entirely convinced this is true.

How anyone else heard differently?

Which bonus items does this refer to exactly?

The pre-order bonuses, which are the sword and shield. Nothing big.

I really hope this isn't true and that the codes for the bonus content will be inside the SE box, imo the guys at amazon.co.uk are just misinformed because Chris Priestly stated clearly that any pre-order of the SE would get all of the additional content.  Maybe one of the devs could confirm this.

EDIT: Just adding the quote

"The Black Emporium will be included in all copies of Dragon Age II
including the Signature Edition, copies pre-ordered between now and
launch, and copies purchased new in stores after launch.

The
Lion of Orlais shield and the Fadeshear sword will be oonly available
to players who pre-order Dragon Age II before launch. They are included
in the Signature Edition. "

That's a very curious reply from amazon. Surely the stock they receive from Bioware will have all unlock codes for the bonus material?

We'll see...

Personally, I'd be pretty hacked off if it's not there.

All this bonus DLC gubbins with DA2 is a big mess!

They might be wrong, since I seem to remember Amazon making a very similar statement before DAO was released. Back then, Amazon said that the Stone Prisoner wasn't available in the UK, but as it turned out it was after all.

Interesting. I must admit, any time a customer support email contains typos (see message in OP), I have to question that person's competence/comprehension. Call me a snob.

Hopefully Amazon.co.uk will be participating.

I have yet to see any online UK retailer's website mention the promotion at all.

Yeah Priestly did claim that all the retailers that we're part of the SE edition also included this stuff.

Follow up email in response to me asking them to be more specific:

Dear (...),

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

I have researched and see that there is no pre-order bonus currently available for the items "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (PC DVD)" and "Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PC DVD)" on our website.

For details on all our current Pre-Order Promotions, you can find the information at the following URL:

http://www.amazon.co...ocId=1000299573

If you have seen a Pre-Order Promotion on a Video Games product sold on another website, possibly even Amazon.com, Amazon.fr or Amazon.de, but do not see the same offer listed on Amazon.co.uk, it means that the Promotion is not available on Amazon.co.uk.

We are always seeking ways to improve the customer experience of shopping on Amazon.co.uk, but we regret we cannot tell customers about any offers that may be available at a future time.

I appreciate your understanding in this regard and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your interest in Amazon.co.uk

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I call BS as DE:HR is definitely advertising Amazon.co.uk as a participating retailer in that game's pre-order bonus.

What's all this then? They better have it. Maybe it's a fail on Amazon's part...

I'm guessing that the code will be inside the case like Stone Prisoner/Blood Dragon Armour was in DA:O. I'm not worried.

Excuse my ignorance but what does "DE:HR" stand for?

This is the first I have heard of this (except for the OP's PM to me).

I think it is a mistake on Amazon.co.uk's part, but I am checking with our EU team to be certain. I will let you know when I do. :)

Thanks Chris, much appriciated. I've also pre ordered SE from Amazon.co.uk. I guess it is a mistake on their part. I hope... :bandit:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Another game I've pre-ordered on Amazon.co.uk that also supposedly comes with pre-order bonus content. Not related to DA2, just trying to provide a comparison and more context.

Awesome! It wasn't me (the OP) that PM'd you, but I'm glad someone did. Looking forward to hearing what you find out.

Thanks Chris.

Any chance on confirmation if the retail boxed Signature Edition contains the codes, or if they are sent by email too please?
The UK retailer I ordered from (thehut.com) has no mention of pre-order bonuses on their website either.

(As I mentioned earlier, I have not seen the pre-order bonuses listed for any UK retailer.)

Cheers!

I placed a order for the signature edition with amazon.co.uk back in august because of a link that i'm sure i followed from dragon age2 website offering pre order bonus. This was before the ones on offer now. I checked the links that bioware have for places that are selling the games and it looks like Amazon.co.uk is no longer on the list but the other amazon sites are.

Now i'm not sure should i cancel the order with amazon.co.uk and go to another place to buy before 8th march.

If you cancel your SE order, you will miss out on the SE bonuses (which are worth more than the two pre-order items not listed on Amazon) as the SE pre-order period is over. Definately worth sticking with what you have.

Plus, the price has gone up - so you'd end up paying more for the regular edition with less content.

I'd at least wait to see what Chris discovers.

DancingCrab, thanks for the clarification on DE:HR.

Thanks i'll do that. Amazon.co.uk don't have any info at all on thier site at the moment on the SE including dispatch date or price but they do for the standard edition.

I've contacted ShopTo.net today and they are unsure whether they are going to offer the pre-order bonuses or not too :-/

I'm interested in if DAII SE includes all the pre-order bonuses inside the box.

What's more, it may sound off-topic but since we talk about preorders: ShopTo.net wasn't listed as an official seller of DAII SE. Can I rest assured that they will still receive their DAII SEs?
