its looking more and more like that. i find it quite absurd that people who now pre-order the vanilla edition will still get the mirror, the warhound, the magic crafting stores AND the fadeshear and the lion of orlais, when people who preordered the SIG edition will not be getting the fadeshear and lion of orlais.



So the simple answer if you REALLY want those two items, you're looking at pre-ordering the vanilla copy (which you still have loads of time to do), then you'll get them. But its not the items so much as the principle, and wanting this whole frackas just sorted out/ want someone to take responsibility for the **** up.

I can't imagine it would be difficult for Bioware/EA to simply authorize anybody with a registered Signature Edition to download these items. It would simply be a tick against their account on their servers...



Yet another way I've been screwed by Amazon.co.uk in the last 2 months...

I suspect (mere speculation, I don't know) that participating retailers may have to pay for the privilege, or are subject to some other inconvenience, hencewhy just giving some people the items who have ordered from elsewhere may pee off those retailers who have actually paid for the ability to do it.

the people that have pre-ordered the signature edition are the ones that can't change their pre-order to another retailer in order to gain these two items without losing the signature edition deal.
at least the number of signature edition pre-order isn't going to increase since that promotion is over so the number is fixed for that particular edition. i'd wager it's far more simpler to give the two items to the people who ordered the signature version than doing it for every pre-order until release.

If we are going for speculation, I'd throw out there that it is entirely possible that to become a participating retailer the store had to enter into a contract with EA and that part of the contract limits EA's ability to give out this bonus solely to stores that have signed the contract. Which could put EA in breech if they were to give the items to all SE owners. Frankly we just don't know what is going on behind the scenes.

Yeah that's what i am going to do. It's not like I desperately WANT to have the Lion of Orlais and that sword but it's just the mere fact that i preordered and don't get all the bonuses that come with it. I'm going to buy it from D2D, or as i said, play my bf's SE copy. Done! Maybe i'll split money with him xD

What a shame...such bad handling!

That's the way round it, but that way we are having to purchase the game twice just to get content that should be included anyway.

Plus you then have to go through the hassle of selling the game after.

I think it's too much of a hassle for you to buy and resell...It would have been nice to find out before the preorder ended tho. Or to be one of the lucky ones who ordered in other places.

Probably because it is not in North America so BW/EA forgot to mention the whole bonus stuff to them. They appear to have no idea what we are talking about with the Bonus stuff.

It took them 2 days to clarify the situation surrounding the rumoured demo, so don't hold your breath. They love watching their fans suffer for a bit before they enlighten them.

Does anyone know if game.co.uk are offering the Fadeshear & The Lion of Orlais with pre-orders of the Signature Edition?

I e-mailed GAME to find out and got a generic reply about how if a game is stated to have a pre-order bonus I will get that bonus. Not exactly helpful :/

They SHOULD. It's supposed to be for ALL preorders, including SE. But some retailers are being stupid about it.

Since game are definitely offering the two bonus items on vanilla editions, and that those bonus items should be available to all editions of preordered games, i think you probably will get them.

Well that's disappointing, although I'm more annoyed at Amazon than anywhere else, they're selling the game and omitted to mention this, granted it's not illegal, but it is incredibly underhanded - I'd hope Bioware will remember this for the next game release and be more up front with their customers (or at the least ensure retailers are).

Guys it's not just amazon.uk, it's ALL amazon.com orders =/

there was someone from france who checked their order and realised they weren't getting it either and another member of the forum who is american called up amazon.com and asked them if stateside customers would get the bonuses and they said we would not.



better to order from a game store in this case (can't believe i am saying this)

well AmazonUS have DEFINITELY got info regarding the Lion of Orlais shield and Fadeshear sword up, and we've been informed time and time again that pre-orders of the SIG edition will also get those. So AmazonUS has no excuse whatsoever not to be handing out the two bonus items.



Im hoping the various other retailers will result in a similar situation to Fnac, which was recently updated saying that they WILL be getting the promo items, they just didn't know about them at first.
